ACT 190 Skilled Migrant Visa via Canberra Matrix Points (Anyone submitted and been selected?)

Hi there, I am a 40 year-old lady looking to migrate to Australia. With my skill set, it looks like ACT is my only option due to my skills. Public Relations Professional (ANZSCO 225311). I have done some research online, and it looks like historically, Public Relations Professional as an open occupation has only been available in ACT.

I have submitted my skills assessment to Vetassess, and thankfully, I have received a positive skills assessment with 8.8 relevant years of experience. My next step is the PTE Academic to gain points.

I did a rough calculation via the Canberra Matrix, and it looks like I will have a total of a minimum of 60 points, hopefully 65.

Nominated Occupation (Open) - 20
English Proficiency - 10/15
Spouse English Proficiency - 5
Relevant Work Experience - 10
Partner tertiary qualification in any occupation - 5
Study level at Australian Tertiary institution - 10
Total: 60/65

I was wondering if anyone in this forum has been called up to submit their papers for the Canberra Matrix and what their points was. Thank you so much.

This new matrix system for ACT is pretty new and you'll find a very limited number of applicants so far who received an invitation under new matrix system. But, I am also curious to know about other's experience with this new thing, so good luck!

Not yet. Partner’s tertiary certification didn’t come in time for me to include in my submission. So I’m at 60 points. Submission was 8 Jan 2019

Just yesterday i found out that out of 60 points i have claimed 5 were for staying in canberra for 7days.. i did go to canberra while my 2.5 year stay in canberra but it was more than 5years ago.. just last night i was looking at the guidelines and it said your stay should be within past 5years... i am so devastated.. coz if i upload new mareix profile it will have a new submission date with 55 points.. no where in the matriz form it was mentioned that the stay should be within last 5years..

I revisited the Matrix guidelines and you have to be within the 5-year range to claim points under the Canberra residence category.

It is good that you have noticed this prior receiving an invite. Things would have gone way too wrong if you received an invite and had to justify the points you claimed, this would have landed you in compromising situation.

It is not too late, 55 is still a good score and you can expect an invite within the next 2 to 3 rounds. Remember chances of new applications coming in will be fairly lower than the initial days when the ACT program was launched.

Submit a new matrix right away and stay positive, Insha'Allah you will get through.

Thankyou fahad the only good thing is that i still get 60 points as before i didnt claimed spouse tertiary education.. the only thing that stresses me is rhat my new DOE is 24th jan but still IA i am hopefull

I too didn't claim spouse tiertiary education of five points, and I am sitting at a total of 60 points for the matrix. Submission was 7 Jan. I don't think i will qualify on 31 January. Hopefully feb intake, even then i am not sure.

For the financial declaration portion, I only got my financial notarised. Seeing as I am the main applicant. I left my husband's financials out, even though he is coming with me. Will that be acceptable? Anyone know?
