I have heard that one applicant from WA who applied in end Feb2023, asked for medical.

No updates..I have completed 10 months now..still no updates..application status shows “ Further assessment”
As I have applied for the whole family..it may take some time for the whole doc verification.
Lets hope for some good news in coming months

By the way, what’s your 1st entry date in the grant letter and for which state where you nominated..I have heard Victoria gives 1 year to make the first entry for SC 190

Does anybody know if the inviting state has any bearing on the visa grant? Are visas granted centrally, or does each state separately grant their own visas like they do for state invitations?

I am asking this because most Facebook posts about visa grants I see are either from NSW or VIC. This could be because not everyone announces their grants, and the posts that I do see are coincidentally from those states. But it still makes me wonder.

Hi Mimi, visas are granted centrally and individual state governments has no role in the final decision.Their only privilege is to nominate you. Home affairs department holds the full authority of grants.

I applied pff shore with 3 dependents for a non-priority 190 profession back in Feb 2023. I got requested to send more info last month and have been at "Initial Assesment" for almost 2 months. Lost my job this week, so a visa grant soon would be a very nice thing to get.
