Hi all
Hope you had a good Easter wwekend
this is my other post. This is related to job status after 190 visa granted.
I lodged 190 visa and it is almost 2 and half month now and obviously I received bridging visa (Currrently on 485 and about to expire on September 5th). I am just worried about my job status during 190 visa assessment. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, I am not sure if I will still have my job . As of now, my job is safe but just worried (Full time permanent). If I don't have any job or lost it during the assessment period of 190 visa, will that effect me ?

Please let me know if this is not clear

Thanks in advance
Regards

You will/ might get impacted if your 485 visa is still valid and you loose your job. Please check your 485 visa conditions . If your current sponsor decides to terminate your job offer , you will have “x” number of days to find a new sponsor. ( check your visa conditions for number of days) If not , you will have to go back to your home country to stay within law . Because you have applied for 190 PR you have received a bridge visa BVA. But it will remain inactive till your previous visa remains valid ( As you mentioned September) . Post September , if you have still not received your PR , you will move to the BVA bridge visa . The advantage now is that you will no longer have any sponsorship requirements for your previous visa. You will have full rights to apply for any job without any sponsorship and also stay in Australia till you get the PR.

But my employer didn't sponsor me by any means. I have got no visa conditions on my current visa. My current visa allows gives me unlimited work rights. I am on a graduate work visa. I am bit confused with your explanation. Can you make it more clear if you can

Thanks

Ok , then I guess the sponsorship restrictions won’t apply to you and you continue your stay and can search for another job. Your bridge visa will anyway protect you when your current visa expires . My explanation was more relevant for employer sponsored people like me
