I have few questions related 887 visa, it might be bit weird to you. If any one can give me good response I will be really helpful. I looked online about it found nothing satisfactory. So I have mentioned all my question here, if I have the answer this tread might be really helpful for the next one. So if you can help me out with this.

1. Work requirement. In the immigration website it says that "Evidence that you have worked full-time in a specified regional area(s) for at least 12 months.”

My Question is, how many payslips do I need to apply 887. Does 52 payslips alright or do I need to get more to be on safe side. I had full-time job I got like 4 weeks of paid holiday. Can I use those holiday payslip or not..

2. Travelling overseas during 2 years
Is there any condition/ restriction on going overseas? What I mean as per the 489 visa condition I mean to apply 887 after two years. What happen If i wanted to go overseas during this two year time. Lets say I want to spend 6 weeks in overseas, is there will be any impact on 489/887 or I have to wait extra 6 weeks to cover up my two years time.

3. Calculation towards 2 years ( trickiest question)

I applied 489 on 1st September 2015. I moved to Regional Area on 13th October 2015 when I was in Bridging Visa A, and started working full time (35+) in regional area. I updated my address on my application. After 5 weeks on 17th November when my visa approved, it had the regional address (updated).

So my question is, when should I lodge my 887.
On October 2017 when I moved to Regional area ( I had a full time job since I moved to regional) or on 17th November 2017 when my visa got approved?

When I checked online I found this that make me confused " 887.212 the main applicant must have lived in a specified regional area for a total of at least two calendar years while holding one of the provisional GSM visas, or bridging visas associated with an application for a provisional GSM visa”.

Thanks in advance for any kind of information or advice.

Why not an experience letter for instead of a slip?

Lets say I want to spend 6 weeks in overseas, is there will be any impact on 489/887 or I have to wait extra 6 weeks to cover up my two years time.

If you have already completed two years of time as per your visa condition, you can travel.

On October 2017 when I moved to Regional area ( I had a full time job since I moved to regional) or on 17th November 2017 when my visa got approved?

They already have all your details in their system so I believe you need to fill in what is correct, and leave the rest to DIBP for verification.

1) 52 payslips are fine. (one year is one year, you don't need to keep a margin)
2) You must live 2 years in the area. If you leave the area for more than 4 weeks per year, the time you were away doesn't count.
3) Depends: If your Bridging Visa A was granted in connection with of your 489 VISA application, you can count the weeks. If you had the Bridging visa for other reason, you cannot.

Hi,
I am on 489 visa, planning to apply for 887 visa shortly. I'm the primary applicant with my husband as dependant.
We may have to visit overseas after lodging the 887 visa for an unavoidable affair. In such situation how to the notify the dept?
Do we have to do anything while applying.other than Form 80, what all forms to be submitted for myself and my husband.

Thanks in advance

You can use "Update Us" button in your ImmiAccount.

You should get the list once you apply. Also, you can have a look in the link below

Hi, I'm on 489 visa and completing the eligibility criteria for applying for 887 in August 2019. I have a small question regarding the dates.

I moved to a regional area on 06th August 2017.

My brother's wedding is going to be on 08th August 2019 and planning to go to Sri Lanka a few days earlier. Will it be an issue if I travel out of the country before 06th of August 2019 and apply for 887 visa online after 06th August 2019?

I am actually not sure if DHA counts any short vacation within 2 years or not. You might ask DHA directly. Otherwise, I would just wait a few more days to fulfill 2 years stay just to be on the safe side.

Does he have a contract letter or something that mentions the weekly hour? Maybe it won't be an issue, but better to be safe.

Guys. A question for guidance:

Under 489, we have 35 hours a week work compliance requirement.

How is this verified / validated by CO if we have salary sheet of fortnight working with one or 2 emoloyeers?

For example, 2 senerios,

1. if salary sheet says, for a fortnight units/hours worked and paid are 70.. will this be considered as 35 hours a week? Regadless of if i worked 40 hours in week one and 30 hours in week 2?

2. If I have two employers, I have worked 40 hours in a fortnight with employer 1 and 30 hours with employer 2 for the same fortnight. This makes total 70 hours. Is it in compliance with working condition of 489 and considered 35 hours a week?

Just want to be sure on how it would be working so that accurately managed documentation is prepared from day 1st.

P.S. with Emploelyer 1, i am working as consultant. For 26 weeks contract is 35 hours a week and remaining 26 weeks contract is of 20 hours a week but payment is fortnightly.

For Employeer 2, I am on ABN as casual worker. So there is nothing written on contract, its shift based work. I anticipate 40 plus hours work minimum per fortnight.

Appreciate guidance on understanding how this entire thing works, please. Thank you.

Is there any way CO could verify you did that?

If I have two employers, I have worked 40 hours in a fortnight with employer 1 and 30 hours with employer 2 for the same fortnight. This makes total 70 hours. Is it in compliance with working condition of 489 and considered 35 hours a week?
So, you meant you worked 70 hours in one week and zero in other? I don't think that's acceptable.

Hey Admin @MysticRiver I am on 489 visa and have a rental agreement and lease signed. However, my landlord pays the electricity bills. Can I prove residency with just the lease agreement?
I believe that's fine.

Hi,
I am very confuse... Kindly help me we are on 489 visa my husband is doing job minimum 35 hours /week my problem is that company gives fortnightly slip in which two weeks hours are written in total so I m worried that when I'll apply for 887 in future it create problem for us???
I am paid fortnightly as well. However, my employment letter shows weekly hours. And the fortnight payment slip shows the combined weekly hours. I think it's fine if the fortnight slip shows the combined weekly hours. Whichever way, the CO might just need to divide by two.

1.) Get a Statutory Declaration from your sister or brother-in-law stating that you have been staying with them.
2.) Upload only the payslips of the week where you have worked 35 hours minimum. ( totally 52 week slips needed)

So, you meant you worked 70 hours in one week and zero in other? I don't think that's acceptable.

I have both the contracts, variation issued, payment slips which are of fortnightly from employer 1 indicating fortnight time period, weeks covered as per contract, approved hours in each week, total hours in fortnight and total payment disbursed as well as ATO retrun. Same is disvursed in my bank account and verifiable as transaction says salary / and company name.

For employer 2, it would again be fortnightly salary sheet, I just started working this week. I will have contract, super contribution, salary sheets of fortinight, bank statement indicating salary received and ATO tax record..

Employer 2 is big organization therefore they only indicate hours worked in fortnight. I anticipate hitting 80 plus hours in a fortnight. Like for Employer 1, I have 20 hours each week, makes 40 weeks in fortnight, for employer 2 I anticipate hitting 15 to 25 hours a week.

Now issues are:
1. Employer 1, I have 20 hours each week, makes 40 weeks in fortnight.
What if I could hit 10 hours to emoplyer 2 in week 1 and 25 in week two makes 35 hours.

Total hours worked 75 in a fortnight but week wise 30+45=75. WOULD THIS BE ACCEPTABLE TO CO? Though this would not be regular practice may be with 4 to 8 weeks out of 52 weeks.

Another issue is, employer 1 have fortnight starting monday till sunday every 2 weeks, employer 2 have fortnight starting Teusday until money every 2 weeks. Confused, how to reconcile fortnight's?

Since I have completed 35 hours plus work with Employer 1 for 24 weeks already, should I request him to give me a monday off, and if employer 1 can revise payment schedule and indicate payroll / fortnight schedule starting Tuesday till monday?

If this is fine, if yes, atleast I would have same fortnight dates for both employers and easy to reconcile and make understandable case for CO.

Appriciate your guidance please. Thanks alot.

Regards

I am not sure how COs react to such variations. I think if he denies, he will be within the law and you won't be able to challenge. But if it happens occasionally, some lenient CO might allow it. I can't tell.
