About adding a partner after a lodgement of 190 visa application

If some one got invitation NSW 190 as a single and got married after invitation but before grant so the question is can we add partner or spouse straight to 190 application after lodging visa application.

I think you can but it still vary from case to case. I am in a very similar situation where I have not claimed single point(I applied before the point change in Nov 2019). So, in my case even if I add partner now(as my application is still in received status even after 34 months) it will not affect my points.

There is a form that states you can add partner(if the visa allow)

I have a query related to the above.

If I add my partner to my visa application after lodging 190:

1. how many days does it take to receive BVA for my partner. Any ETA?
2. There are 2 options - lodge online or express post. Which one would be faster ? The agent is suggesting to do express post.

Just yesterday they immigration send me s56 request asking about marriage certificate and some relationship evidence.. can someone tell me is this positive sign or not

@Ketan, it is a positive sign that they have asked for a relationship certificate. It takes 6 weeks to receive the final letter. Ideally, you need to submit the relationship certificate beforehand itself. They have made the certificate mandatory for almost everyone since 2019 as there have been a lot of unlawful outcomes of applications showing relationships. The other reason is that partner qualifications (English and skills assessment) have been made mandatory that affects the points.

Changing marital status after lodging and before receiving a grant generally leads to refusal as it results in a change in the points claimed in EOI.
