Hi I was granted a 190 visa and I moved to Australia, I still do not have an Australian passport I want to get a tourism visa to the USA. My question is: do American migration officers have access to my data of immi account? for example, if I said I was a mechanical engineer but in my profile on my USA visa application I tell I have a degree in civil engineering can they understand if I am telling a lie or not?
if they understand what the USA officers can do? can the USA officers report to the Immigration system of Australia or not?
Best regards.

Hey I'm in a similar situation. Did you find the answer? Does ImmiAustralia save our data for future reference?

I don't understand why you want to state the facts incorrectly!

Hey there, congrats on getting your 190 visa and moving to Australia! Here's what I can share about your questions on US visa applications:

No worries, US officers likely can't see your Immi account. While the US and Australia are allies and share some information for security purposes, US visa officers typically don't have direct access to your Australian immigration account.

Be honest on your US visa application. It's always best to be truthful on any visa application. If you have a degree in civil engineering, then list that on your application. If you're also working as a mechanical engineer, you can explain that in your work experience section.

US can't report directly to Australia (but...). Even though US officers can't directly access your Immi account, they can deny your visa application if they have reason to believe you're misrepresenting yourself. In that case, they might share that information with other countries, including Australia, through internal channels.

Here's what I would suggest:

  • Be upfront and honest: It's always the safest option. If you have a civil engineering degree and work as a mechanical engineer, explain that on your application.
  • Consult a migration agent (optional): A migration agent can give you specific advice based on your situation and help ensure your application is accurate and complete.

I hope this helps! Good luck with your US visa application.

While American migration officers may not directly access your Australian immigration account, they have databases to verify info. If you provide conflicting details, it could raise flags; consequences range from denial to legal issues. Though countries may share info, it's best to be truthful to avoid complications.
