Hello,

Thank You for this great forum. I Need some guidance on applying EOI. My ACS results were positive, but ACS have considered my employment after July 2014 which leaves me with just 2 Years 2 months of experience out of my total 8 years of experience. Of course I am not getting any points for my experience. I need to know if I can still apply for EOI. I am 28 years old graduate in BBA (H) with 8 years of Experience in IT, Married with a Kid. I have my PTE scores as follows:

listening : 90
Reading : 90
Speaking : 86
Writing : 81

My ACS assessment results is as below:

Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 263111 (Computer Network and Systems Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code. Your qualifications have been assessed as follows:

Your Cisco Certified Network Professional from Cisco completed June 2015 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a major in computing.

Your Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist from Microsoft completed September 2011 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a major in computing.

The following employment after July 2014 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 263111 (Computer Network and Systems Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code.

Dates: 07/09 - 06/11 (1yrs 11mths)
Position: Support Engineer
Country: INDIA

Dates: 06/11 - 09/12 (1yrs 3mths)
Position: L2 Support Engineer
Country: INDIA

Dates: 09/12 - 07/13 (0yrs 10mths)
Position: Incident Management Analyst
Country: INDIA

Dates: 07/13 - 08/16 (3yrs 1mths)
Position: Senior Technical Support Consultant
Country: INDIA

Please suggest if I am eligible for EOI. Also please suggest if I need to got to Vetassess to get my BBA(H) degree assessed.

Thank You for your guidance and support.
Really appreciate your time and effort to answer my query.

I am not aware of all your details. Please check the below 2 links to calculate your point. If you have 60 points at least, you are eligible to submit your EOI.

http://www.migrationdesk.com/threads/point-system-for-australia-immigration.24/
http://www.migrationdesk.com/thread...tency-level-for-australian-immigration.41408/

Just couple of notes: yes you won't be able to claim point for your experience unless you have Australian experience. For your BBA, you can claim 15 points against your bachelor, but you need your degree to be assessed (by ACS/VETASSESS). Check this link for a related discussion:

Hello MysticRiver, Thank You for your prompt response. I read through the posts that you mentioned and I think I understand the process a little better now. However I had couple of queries:

1. It seems I can apply for EOI as long as I meet minimum 60 points, even though I didn't get any points for my Experience. Am I right?
2. In the post http://www.migrationdesk.com/thread...-need-a-separate-assessment.41647/#post-43979 You mentioned that

" All right after several searches, I have got to find out that if you are a NON-ICT Bachelors/Masters degree holder, ACS wont assess your degree and wont mention it in RPL assessment if its positive. Although you will get the points automatically from your application. So there's nothing to worry about.
But if ACS recommends you to get your degree's assessed by VETASSESS (which is very rare and happens when they doubt that your institute is not very well known around the globe and the educational transcripts could be forged), you will have to go to VETASSESS and get it assessed for the points of your qualification in your application. Also VETASSESS wont assess ONLY your degree if you apply for assessment without any recommendation from any relevant assessing body."

Does this mean that I only have to get my BBA Deegree Assessed by VETASSESS if its recommended by ACS?
ACS has not mentioned anything regarding my BBA Deegree and has mentioned my Microsoft and Cisco Certification as AQF Diploma as major in Computing. Does this mean that I will get just 10 points for my Qualification ( for Microsoft and Cisco Certification considered AQF Diploma as major in Computing) against my BBA Deegree for which I can get 15 points.

The extra 5 points make a lot of difference to me and willing to do VETASSESS if the need be.

Thank You once again for helping me through this. Appreciate the time and effort you invest in replying to the posts.

Hi Mystic River,

Trust you are doing well. Can you suggest on this scenario -

1. Positive skills assessment from Vetassess for job code: 224711 (Management Consultant) with 2.9 years approved mid this year. SA is possibly the only state where Management Consultants are being accepted. Is SA still accepting Management Consultants for this year ? Is there any site where one can check the job ceilings for the year ?

2. Vetassess has recommended points test advice (where one can additional months of experience approved + recently completed Australian experience approved + review of Institute that provided Post Graduate Degree-this all will help in getting more points later while applying for PR). This is an additional AUD400 cost. Willing to spend this amount if any state (ACT, SA) still accepting Management Consultants.

Sound like you are from Pakistan hence I will add up here if you have done Bachelors of Information System(4 years) from a government university which is well known globally e.g. University of Karachi, it will give you an edge. If you have done it from a private university e.g. Preston University, it might be a problem, can you confirm the university though?

First of All, I am a female, secondly, I am doing well thank you brother.

If your institution is certified and EHE certifies your degree from its ministry, then you do not have to worry about your degree at least. Your experience will be counted from the date AFTER your degree has been issued to you e.g. you started working as an IT personal in 2005 till 2016 but you earned a degree in 2008, then your experience will be of 8 years instead of 11 years. I hope I am clear enough. You can further calculate your points as per your work experience from the link given below:

Thank you Rakshanda positive response ,and my degree has been issued 2002 ,I am going to apply in ACS under analyst programmer , and I want you to clarify that I have emailed ACS with all subject I had thought to inquire how much percentage of ICT content , and they answered me ,I have More the 60% ICT content but not 80% and I have heard that from some agent they ACS would deduct 4 years if I have less than 80% ICT subjects ,so I really get confutation for all of this criteria , by the way, 4 years of deduction it looks acceptable to me in all

Dates: 011/04- 12/2008 (4 years)
Position: junior analyst programmer
Country: Saudi Arabia

Dates: 01/2009- till date
Position:analyst programmer
Country:Saudi Arabia

which means 7 years and 10 month

Thank You for your guidance and support.
Really appreciate your time and effort to answer my query.

I have heard that from some agent they ACS would deduct 4 years if I have less than 80% ICT subjects

The reason your agent gave was completely wrong.

As shown in this link, ICT major criteria requires 25% ICT content for a 4 years' bachelor. So, your ICT content (60%) is well above that threshold and your degree is certainly ICT major.

Next, for ICT major Bachelor, ACS deducts 2 years from last 10 years experience OR 4 years from total experience (whichever comes to your favor).

For your case,
  • 2 years deduction in last 10 years results your skill select met date from 11/2008 (because they would deduct 2 years in last 10 years, e.g. from 10/2006)
  • 4 years from total experience results your skill select met date from 12/2008
So, for you, both are almost same at this moment. However, ACS will go with the option that gives you more advantage, at the time assessment result comes.

4 years of deduction it looks acceptable to me in all
FYI, you can have extra 5 points once you complete 8 years, in one/two months time.
