yes, I applied it with 50 points.
Do I also need to create a new EOI with 190 category ??? because currently, I have only one EOI with 489 category. @MysticRiver.
If yes, then should I go with the same user ID or do I need to create a new one?

Create new EOI for ACT 190.

Once you receive pre invite from ACT, you will need to prove them the matrix score (in your case 50) that you are claiming; accordingly you will be directed through web link to their website where in you will upload documents and fill the application as required.

you will pay the service fees of 300 AUD and submit your application.

you will use the EOI reference number when filling this application.

it is better you lodge EOI for ACT and be ready.

Dear Mates,
In canberra matrix there is one option that
SPOUSE/PARTNER EMPLOYMENT
Tertiary qualification in any occupation (at least three years study)

Are they talking about education from canberra or an overseas education?

Seems like education can be anywhere, as long as relevant and meets Australian standard.

To my understanding If you are claiming points for SPOUSE/PARTNER in the matrix you need to have relevant skill assessment done.

My score is 45...Could anyone have any estimated on the lowest score for get invitation?
It seems they increase 800 places this year for this new matrix....

I guess most of the experienced professionals (other than Australia) are falls under 45 - 50 points in the new matrix system. If they have demand for your role, they may invite you. However, I wanted to hear it from MysticRiver. Hi MysticRiver, any thoughts?

I read the instruction and selecting criteria is based on Scores only. Top down approach...Will it depend on our Job code also?

The program was shut down last time which effected lots of onshore applicants:

https://www.canberratimes.com.au/po...it-didn-t-act-until-june-20180830-p500ss.html

https://www.sbs.com.au/yourlanguage...attered-slight-change-permanent-residency-act

Indeed offshore was also shut but the onshore applicants where hit worst due to visa expiry, paying for the course hoping this will assist them in gaining points for ACT nomination, moving and living in ACT for required time to gain points from this..etc.

And now they structured the point based matrix system with lot of options for on shore applicants to gain points.

In my opinion the matrix point range can be as follow:

1. On shore applicants: 50 to 70

2. Off shore applicants with "Open occupation" (65 points on DIBP without ss): they will be in the range of 45 to 55

Open occupation: occupation which is shown as "Open" on the current occupation list

As per the Guidelines, If there are more candidates with the same Matrix score than the number of invitation places available, selection may be based on the date and time of the Matrix submission

Hi
Anyone idea about first invitation round for Canberra Matrix?

In accordance with the matrix guidelines:

The timing of invitations issued may vary according to the economic priorities of the ACT Government, but as a guide, the ranking and issue of invitations will be conducted on a monthly basis.

It can be assumed to be between 15 to 25 as they started on 29 November.

To my understanding If you are claiming points for SPOUSE/PARTNER in the matrix you need to have relevant skill assessment done.

@MysticRiver @jasmeet @fahadfaiz

my husband applied for ACT at 55 points. I claimed 5 points for the qualification. From my understanding, on the right hand side, they separated:

skills assessment and tertiary qualification. As long as it’s 3 years. (My degree is 5 years same with my husband’s field. Architects but ID is open so we applied for interior designer, skills assess, 9years)

My question is, is it ok that I claimed 5 points for my qulaification? I’m a bit worried that i overclaimed 5 points but for me assessmemt is diff from tertiary qual as they enumerated it separately

In order to justify your qualification you must do a positive skill assessment from the relevant Authority, in your case AACA.

AACA: https://www.aaca.org.au/forms-fees/

If you don't have skill assessment done and claim points you will have a possible rejection due to wrong claim.

As per the ACT matrix guidelines:

The Canberra Matrix cannot be updated once it is submitted. If your circumstances change and your claimed points increase/decrease, you must complete a new Canberra Matrix; noting that your submission date/time will also change.

sorry its not AACA, only VETASSESS, as AACA is requiring for 6 years study in Australia before you can get an assessement, as an Architect. That’s why most of my friends started applying as Interior Designer or Architectural Draftsman first.

As to my understanding. They will not enumerated skills assessment separately from tertiary education, with different points if its the same. They will put it together as 10 points.

I’ll email canberra instead. Thanks.

Seems logical, I have already dropped an email to ACT, lets see wht they will reply.
