Hey,

I am working in the company as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer and the company I am working for currently approved me to sponsor for my residency (186 DE software engineer). For 186 DE, DHA has new requirements for advertising the position before we lodge an application. The company has advertised the position of software quality assurance engineer.

I have the following queries:
  1. Will the advertisement as a software quality assurance engineer will cause a problem? or do the company need to advertise exactly as a software engineer?
  2. Do I need to sign the contract with the company? Will those contracts be submitted in DHA? And, do I need to have a role as a software engineer or software quality assurance engineer?
thanks

Usually title doesnot matter as long as the job description posted with advertisement is same as your's nominated occupation

Hi, thanks for the reply. But if we see the roles and responsibilities of ICT, most of them are similar. So, you are saying, it doesn't matter if the advertisement is software quality assurance engineer or not, I can still lodge my application as a software engineer?

thanks

They are mostly similar but not exactly. DHA check each application against individual occupation not under some collective ICT job descriptions. As long as your JD is matching with that of advertisement as well as the nominated occupation, it is okay
