Hi,
I am doing couple of affidavits for my R&R as I am not able to get R&R letters from these 2 companies. I am hearing that ACS expects R&R letters on company letterheads now-a-days. Please shar eyour views.
How an affidavit can be on a company letterhead? They are expecting R&R on letterhead, affidavit will be on a legal paper as per your country's legal requirement

My query was this - whether affidavit solves the purpose of R&R letter as the new guideline says one needs to get R&R on company letter head.
These are 2 different things - either you provide your R&R on a company letter head -Reference letter from HR- if you could manage this as per ACS format - very well. If you are not able to obtain the same - alternate way is to get an affidavit from your supervisor/ colleague as per ACS guideline which is also called Statutory Declaration. Now there seems to be an additional requirement that - you should provide the reason why you cannot provide the company reference letter- this need further clarification from those who did assessment recently or may be admins.

Hi,

My query is about proving that the colleague/manager who provides the affidavit was employed at the company at the same time- do I need to provide evidence for that? (like their payslip or a company reference for them ?)Or is that only required if they come back and request it?

Thanks for your help!

For ACS, it looks like they are not accepting affidavits. On safe side, please try to provide R&R letters from company.

Thanks for the reply Sushanta, has there been a change to regulations/requirements? I am looking at the December 2019 guidance and it still says than an affidavit is acceptable.
I have got Reference letters from employers, but most of them will not mention job responsibilities as they have a standard format for references.

I understand but ACS will match the R&R letters with their descriptions for that job code. I am not quite sure now how you should proceed as you are saying there is a standard format for references.

Please see the response from ACS regarding affidavits (received 25th May). In my case I have got reference letters on company letterhead with all information except job description/duties and the letters clearly mention that it is against company policy to provide more details. So I am planning to use an affidavit as an additional document to confirm the role description. The internal job titles on the Reference letters would not make any sense or hint at job description (Senior Insight analyst, Principal analyst, Data analyst etc).

Please do not provide false information, it can have a big impact on someone's decision to go ahead with their application or not.

Hi, can you please use proper language while addressing. I have written that I am not sure which means you need to check with other sources. However, I will ensure not to reply to you.

Affidavits are acceptable but ACS has recently increased their requirement. They also need verficiation of your colleague in terms of experience letter (without JD), relieving letter if resigned and payslips as a proof that he was working in same duration as yours

@Sumisug ... this is a public forum where everyone gives there opinion and comment based on their understanding. Irrespective of what someone says and how confident they sound, it is your duty to verify and decide its merit. If you want full-proof and guaranteed answers, the public forum may not be the best place for you, rather you should pay professionals to perform this job (although, I have seen mistakes by professionals as well).

So, at the end of the day, it's your responsibility to accept/reject/correct the comments provided by the community, and you MUST to that in a civil manner.

  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
