Average time requires for security check

Mystic river, good morning, a friend of mine applied wih his wife and kid for visa 189; it has been 5 months since he applied. He called them they said they are doing security check; how long do security checks take up to your knowledge?

Personally I have seen upto 3 years (36 months), but that is lonely case. However I have seen many cases where it took from 18 months to 24 months.

On the other end, I have seen people getting in 1.5 months as well.

So all depends on your country, and your luck.

. Oh god!!!! That is devastating! The waiting is a killer!! And I am assuming they will do security check in my case because my husband has visa refusals; do they up to your knowledge do security checks for all visa refusals?

I am not sure about visa refusal checks, but the security check normally takes more for citizens of certain countries which Australia considers as high security risk countries.

ok too sad for my friend!! I hope visa refusals do not undergo security checks!!
