Hi Team,
Primary Applicant = Accounting General

Here's my condition. I am trying to get my Skill Assessment for 5 extra Points

Non ICT - Bachelor Degree completed in 2013 = Which can be equivalent to Diploma Degree for Australia (Already confirmed with Migration Agent)
Work Experience

My planned MLTSSL = 263111 -Computer Network and Systems Engineer (Since Accounting is in MLTSSL as well)

2009 - 2010 (1year 6month) = IT Desktop/Network Support
2010 - 2015 (4year 8month) = Network Administrator
2015 - Present (3year .....) = IT Helpdesk Analyst
My question is Since my Position name includes Helpdesk, Desktop Support but my job role included all the job description needed for Computer Network and system engineer. And my overall work expirence will be 8 years plus months total but what will be my total work expirence after deduction needed years? Will i be able to do ACS RPL skill assessment just to claim our 5 points?

Hi

You need to check whether ACS consider the experience before completion of your Bachelor Degree, if they consider then you can try for skill assessment. As per my knowledge designation doesn't matter much, as ACS looks for the roles and responsibilities/job duties in the work experience rather than designation.

You don't need any experience after deduction if all you need is to contribute 5 points to your partner's application.

It'll depend on the assessor. If the title is totally different, you might face trouble.

I need to check means does that mean i can ring them and confirm if my expirence is counted even before Bachelor Degree?

Hi MysticRiver,
Thank for the info, that means i don't need to worry about experience deduction right? So, i have 8Years of experience will i be doing just "Skill Assessment" or i have to do "RPL"?

Your experience (relevant) before degree will be counted for skill meeting purpose (deduction purpose) but you will only be claiming points for the experience after completion of your degree

If you don't have ICT degree, you have to apply with RPL in which they will deduct your experience (4-8 years depending upon your level of education)

I mean to say, If ACS consider your experience before graduation then there would be a chances you can claim some under >3 years experience. please apply for ACS assessement with RPL and wait for result.

You need to worry about deduction, but you won't need any extra experience after deduction to contribute 5 points to partner's application.

ACS would not do that actually. Pre-qualification experience can be useful for deduction, but can't claim points for that (even if you have few post-qualification remains after the deduction)

Awesome, Thank you MysticRiver. That means no matter how many year remains if my skill assessment is successful i will be able to claim 5points right.

Now as you mentioned i need to do RPL first and Skill assessment after that, does that means Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) $550 + Skills (general application) $500 = need to pay both fee?

6 years should be enough.
