I can't seems to grasp how my experience will be check from ACS.
This is my first professional job in the occupation i want to immigrate in AUS.
Which is software engineer (Front end engineer)
I have total till now (05.01.2019) 4.3 years of work experience in my country.
I have Microsoft MCSD certificate, that i took 4 months ago.
And this is all my education and experience.
Where do i stand here?

If you do not have an ICT major Bachelor, you'd need at least 5 years of relevant experience for a positive ACS assessment (because ACS deducts certain years of relevant experience based on your qualification) AND you won't be able to claim those deducted points.

You will find most of your answers in the following thread
ACS assessment suitability criteria - Year deduction from experience

Hmm, in what category does Microsoft certifications fall in? ICT Major or Minor?

There is nothing such as ICT minor diploma. It's either ICT major or non-ICT. From the name, I think it'll be considered ICT major, but I am not an expert in your field of study.

Nothing else, just Microsoft certification.
Then I am afraid they will be deducting 5 years most likely from your relevant experience

Are you serious:???
Then what should i do then?
As per my understanding, nothing but wait to increase your experience. See below excerpt from ACS Guidelines:

Qualification comparable to AQF Diploma and Vendor Certification • If your AQF qualification or Vendor Certification is assessed as having an ICT major which is closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 5 years relevant work experience completed within the past 10 years or 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria. • If your AQF qualification or Vendor Certification is assessed as having an ICT major which is NOT closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history to meet the suitability criteria.

So i should get 6 years of experience?
What if i get a 1 year - 12 months of certification? Would that be good, instead my Microsoft degree?

I dont think that will benefit you unless you have bachelor degree or 6 year exp. Once you have 6 year exp, even after that you will be unable to claim any points for your experience

Once you get 6 years, ACS will deduct 5-6 years from your experience. The deducted experience cannot be used to claim points for skill migration. 6 years will only be used for the positive assessment from ACS

They really will deduct all 6 years, leaving me without points to claim for immigration?
5 or 6 years depending on whether your diploma is closely related to your nominated occupation or not. Bottom line is, if you don't have an ICT bachelor, even in the best case scenario, you'll lose 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
