If someone receives a reply from EA that the submitted CE has the similarities or copied from the sources AND they provide you a chance for explanation than you are lucky enough that they provide you a chance for explanation and now you should prove the originality of your work otherwise you may face a ban for one year OR again you have to apply, again $s. :)

I HAVE FACED THE SAME SITUATION AND COULD SHARE MY EXPERIENCE THAT MIGHT HELP YOU.

This situation could happen when you have copied some small content from online sources that could be CDR's, published papers, magazines, books or anything which is available online.
PLEASE NEVER EVER COPY MATERIAL FROM ANY WEBSITES AND CDRs.
You may consult these but write it in your own words.

EXPLANATION FOR THE SIMILARITIES:

1. If you have copied from CDR's never say that you have consulted or read any CDR because ethically CDR seems to be more negative than the other sources.

2. You know better which part of your CDR is copied, so don't highlight that part of your CDR in explanation. Instead of this divert it on what you have done yourself and how you have performed all the tasks stated in your CDR.

3. If you have any personnel notebook on which you have done some calculations, made drawings, wrote any literature regarding the project or anything regarding the said project scan it and use it as a evidence that you have done the project yourself.
This is the most solid proof of your original work which can convince the assessor that you have done the project your self. So present it in a wonderful way. I included the drawings which were even not readable, literature was even not in English, my notebook was four years old and in a pathetic condition. I scanned 20 pages of that and sent to the assessor.

4. If you have highlighted any equipment's specifications in CDR or any machine which could be a common or standard product for anyone highlight that. For instance, I have used ABB motor or Some other machine and I have mentioned it in my CDR then there is a chance of similarity that anyone else can also use it and the specifications can match with other candidates. So highlight such material from your CDR and search for the sources from the internet which should be common, means there should be no harm if you copy such literature from internet or books because of its standard all over the world.
As the assessor knows that your CDR is having plagiarism and he is asking for the sources so for me it sounds good to provide him the sources which are common and can match with anyone.
Provide 2, 3 internet links in explanations, or some book, e.g ABB motor installation guide ( As my CDR was based on the motors so I am using Motor).
But don't say I copied from these sources instead state that I consulted/read these as it's standardized product.

5. Same for safety norms, if you have mentioned some safety measures/tools in your CDR than relate it to common standards e.g OHSAS safety norms or others. Because safety tools are common all over the world, even safety strategies are also common.

6. You can also provide or refer some sources for the introduction of your project.

7. If you can get a certificate from your company or professor (depends on your scenario) which states that you have done the project your self that can be beneficial for your explanation.
The person should be your direct boss which you have shown on the hierarchical chart in CDR.

Point # 4, 5 and 6: it's easy to find the material for these points from the internet as these are common and can be applicable to any project. Actually, I provided internet links for these parts while I have written all of these points on my own. Literature and standards are the only thing in your CDR which can match with other candidate and you have to highlight only that. Provide the sources to the assessor and create the sources of your original work :) instead of copied one.

I hope that above can help.

Hi Naveed,
Thanks for your valuable information. I could see a ray of hope after seeing your response.
Actually I was totally blind with this incident.
Can you do favor, I need your explanation letter for reference so that I can come to know about the format.
I will start to prepare letter with your shared points.

No issue I can share the letter with you. But it wouldn't help you as it was prepared as per my CDR. And all details in letter will conflict with your ideas and creativity.
Secondly, if your CDR is from Professional Experience than it could give you ideas only. I have seen such cases where the applicant has written CDR on Bachelor projects but my post couldnt help them

Hi Naveed. Hope you're well. I received the same feedback from the assessor on my CDR application. Can you please tell me how to upload multiple files in the supporting file section on the portal just under the additional comments section. I want to attach all the project reports, research material for my episodes but it is only attaching one file. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can merge the pdf as one file and reduce the size of file

I have got a similar reply from EA
I can say that I provided them with original CDR episodes, but i admit I got feedback from the internet while filling out the summary statement sheet for ideas on how to fill the information and might have over relied on those sources
Moreover they only provided the provision to re-upload the the Summary Statement Sheet in their response with no reference to the exact Episodes they found to be suspicious.
Does it mean they only found the statement sheet to be plagiarized or is it the case for all episodes
How can i contact my assessor for clarifications?

just wanted to know if you got a similar response i.e. just a provision for re-uploading Summary Statement only, or did they highlight the suspicious CDR they wanted you to provide evidence for original work

hi naveed
my problem is that they have not identified any of the CDR, so i dont really know which CDR I am supposed to provide further evidence of work. As you know it is quite a task again to write an explanation citing your sources and providing evidence of original working & calulations e.t.c, i wanted to know in your case if they properly identified any ONE suspicious CDR and asked evidence for it specifically . If yes then there is a chance that I might have to provide evidence for all three as they did not mention in my case.

Also how was the response from EA on your explanation? they gave a 30 day deadline for me to submit my reply, will they extend this period in case they need further explanation upon my evidence or will they just decide my fate based on the first reply

Dear Waleed,

In my case, they have identified as Career Episode 1 we have identified a high percentage of similarity. And they gave me one month for providing all these. I gave them all the explanation whatever I can provide. You must submit within the time frame.

received the following reply from EA regarding the clarifications required in my case

Dear Waleed Farukh,

Please see the below comments from the assessor regarding your recent query as requested:

The MSA Team has identified higher similarities (30%) of your submitted career episodes and therefore, as instructed earlier you are advised to provide your thoughts on the background and sources of developing your career episodes. Once, they will receive your response and evidences provided by you before the due date that the works you demonstrated are your own and original, they will decide about the way forward as they highlighted before. You can combine all of your responses, insights and evidences related to your career episodes development and upload to summary statement. In addition to that, also provide the requested evidences as part of third-party verification of your work experience.

I believe they are bluffing about the similarities as I know for sure that two of my episodes are unique and original projects from my Final Year projects during my bachelors Degree program. As for the last one, it was from my previous employment in which I carried out an Internal Audit of the QMS system. They are just being more stringent on applicants to prove the episodes are their own work in my opinion. Anyway I'm preparing a reply currently and hopefully they will be enough to get a positive assessment
