Subclass 189 Claiming points from partner who has PR

I have applied my eoi last year with 65 points after finishing my PY. This is year i got married to a person who has PR. Would i be able to claim partner skills 5 points from him on my 189 eoi or is it not possible ?

You should be, as long as you can prove a genuine relationship and your partner meets the criteria (a positive assessment in a skill that shares the same skill list, competent English etc.).

However, why don't you just apply for partner's visa and save all these hassles?
