Wow, these statistics are pretty interesting. I wouldn't mind possibly migrating to Australia at some point in my life, a few internet friends of mine live there currently. They seem to enjoy their time there, and most of them were born and raised in Australia.

Any time you decide to start the process, feel free to ask any question here. Also you will find lots of useful information and the explanation of the requirements in Information & Processes section.

I don't think weather is the main issue. Winter in Australia is also extreme, specially on the south coast (where most of the people reside). May be lifestyle, but who knows :).

Thanks Mystic! Yeah, I cannot say by themselves but for me the main reasons are, as you said, the lifestyle (I'm surfer and Australia has many surfing spots, one of the best waves around the world :) ), safety and economic stability. Things that I don't have here in Brazil by the way..... but, other than that, I have always dreamed to live in Australia since I was a teenager! Hopefully the dream comes true next year.

By all means winter in Australia is warm comparing to weather in UK, where we get ~10 and they get low ~5s. Don't let me start with their cool summer. A summer with rare mid 20s in UK can't be called a summer. But yeah, it's better if we don't have to put up with ~40 in Oz. Nothing is perfect eh.

Well, in Canberra, it went as below as -7 degree in July night last year, with below zero being a regular thing at night, let alone further southern region, like Tasmania. Though I am not much aware of UK weather, so not comparing :).

But I agree, nothing's perfect, also every one has different reasons, liking and perspective.
