You can be awarded points for credentialled community language if you have been accredited at the para-professional level or above by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) as either a translator or interpreter.

Five points will be awarded if you meet the requirements for credentialed community language. To meet this requirement, you must provide evidence of your accreditation by NAATI with your application.

Only Professional Translator accreditation tests are available at testing venues outside of Australia and New Zealand.

For test formats, see the attached booklet.

You can take at least paraprofessional, which means higher tests are of course acceptable.

so if i want to do paraprofessional test i would need to visit australia on visit visa, is it.....??
Yes, as overseas centers do not offer paraprofessional test, till now. You can take professional tests from overseas centers, if you want.

Hi @MysticRiver @Rakshanda - I am looking to increase my points for 189 EOI application. Do you know how much time does it take to prepare the test to be accredited in a community language? I do not have any translator certifications but I would be willing to study and take a test if it takes less than a month. If you have any info on this or know useful resources would be much appreciated. Thank you

Its easy and I believe its available in your language too. Hence there won't be any issues for that.

If you have any info on this or know useful resources would be much appreciated. Thank you

The above mentioned website contains all the information regarding the test.

Yes, you can choose to give the test on translating between your own language and English.
