Difference between Washington, Sydney and Dublin accord

Hello MysticRiver,

I am currently getting my qualification assessed by Engineers Australia. Would like to know the following,

1. I graduated from University of Bradford, UK. It is accredited by the Engineering Council (ACAD). Which assessment type should I go for? Dublin Accord, Washington Accord or Sydney Accord?

2. Do I need to sit for IELTS before taking the assessment? Note that I will be applying under a de facto partner under Skill Migration Subclass 189.

Looking forward to be hearing from you soon.

Regards
Sebastian

1. UK is part of all 3 accords (the country is reoresented by Engineering Council UK). The main difference between these 3 accords is your skill level. Different occupations apply for different accord as below
So, based on your skill, you have to choose which accord you should fall under. For a detail list of responsibilities (page 33 onwards) of above 3 categories, and a list of ANZSCO code against each category (page 49), check the last few pages in migration assessment booklet

https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/msabooklet

2. IELTS band 6 score is must for EA assessment.

you can call the uk engineering council and they will give you the information which accord is ur degree, I have called them and gave me the answer in 5 minutes.

Or do the search on the Engineering Council site yourself . If I recall correctly from when I did mine it will tell you which accord is relevant.
Failing that, take a look at the Engineers Australia application guide the have a simple process map (with supporting info) that will help you decide

Hi Mystic River,

I have a Bachelors of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from India and MSc. Process Safety and Loss Prevention from University of Sheffield, UK.

In the Engineers Australia handbook, it says "some postgraduate qualifications have been accredited as standalone qualifications" on page 12.

Do you think the MSc alone is enough to get qualified for Professional Engineers status by Engineers Australia.

I am not sure particularly about your field, but if I remember correctly, EA usually assessed based on undergraduate studies.
