I am planning to move as a Web Designer ( ANZSCO: 232414 ) to South Australia. And having few doubts regarding claiming points for my education and experience.

  • I have 3years Bachelor of Science (Information Technology) degree from Sikkim Manipal University - Distance Education. Do they award 15 point for degree obtained via distance mode?
  • Completed Degree in July 2014, and working from Jan 2013. I think they will deduct the experience before July 2014 or they can deduct more from my experience after completion of degree.
  • I have applied for attestation of documents from University, so those copies will work fine or anything else needed?
  • I have salary account and can show bank statement for last 3 years, also filed ITR for the same. But I don't have any payslip from any of the employer I worked for. However I have offer letter, experience letter and can obtain reference letter as well.

Any suggestion and guidance will be heartily welcomed :)

Depends on what ACS will think about the standard of your education.

Completed Degree in July 2014, and working from Jan 2013. I think they will deduct the experience before July 2014 or they can deduct more from my experience after completion of degree.
ACS deducts a certain amount of experience based on the level of your qualification. So, it can be from post-graduation experience as well, if your pre-graduation experience is not enough. Check the link
https://www.migrationdesk.com/threa...riteria-year-deduction-from-experience.41529/
I have applied for attestation of documents from University, so those copies will work fine or anything else needed?
You need to get certified copies. If your university can do so in your local jurisdiction, it will be fine. Otherwise, you'll need to get it done from a proper authority.

I have salary account and can show bank statement for last 3 years, also filed ITR for the same. But I don't have any payslip from any of the employer I worked for. However I have offer letter, experience letter and can obtain reference letter as well.
Well, you have to fight with whatever you have.

@MysticRiver I have few more things in my mind which doubting me, and agents really don't help, they just want to process started and suck some amount for that.

Study Visa rejected in Feb 2015, for Australia

1) Reason of rejection was, degree is not authenticated or approved ,as learning centers are not authorized. Case of Authorization of learning centers was in High Court, and their was a stay order from court regarding this. Unfortunately, I was not aware of these things. None of the learning centers official told about this. So my visa failed.

2) Students filed case in 2012 against this and won the case in June 2015. High Court ordered that "Degree obtained before July 2015 will be valid and learning centers will closed afterwards". That's why now I send my documents to university for attestation to crosscheck.

Now my question is " does a refusal will bother my PR application? "

Only DHA can determine this, can't really comment. Usually, if you did not make any intentionally falsified claim, you should not have any issue.

It was my mistake that I was not aware of these things at time of apply, it was a great shock that my degree is not approved. And due to this lack of awareness costed my pocket approx 3lacs at that time including embassy fees, English exam, bank loan, fee refund ( dollar rate fell down more then Rs10, so received less amount).

Now, I have experience but again need a check on education approval, however UGC and Supreme Court in India has approved the degree but let see what Australian high commission thinks on it.

Did you get any information on this? I have also done 2 years Masters Degree from SMU via distance learning and not sure whether it will be considered or not and even if it gets considered how many years of exp will get deducted. I have searched everywhere but couldnt find any concrete answer even Y-Axis is ambiguous about it.

No body sure about it even I have contacted many MARA agents in my city. But they say it totally depend on assessment body and differ case to case. So they didn't say it will be considered 100% for sure.

There are few reasons for it which we were not aware before study from their.

  • Bad reputation of University, degrees are sold from SMU.
  • UGC/DEC has on/off decision on its affiliation.
  • All learning centers are closed. And in 2014 my student visa rejected saying universities are not allowed to run any study centers outside of their home state. So we can't consider your degree. However, High Court of Sikkim ordered that degrees obtained before June 2015 will be valid. So this given me hope try once again but its like gamble because no body is sure about it.
  • Don't go by sayings of agents that there is not problem, as we are going to stake our hard earned money.
  • They can consider your master as master or may be diploma or might not consider.
  • Check subjects with Australian education for same degree , your credit value should match or higher.
In nutshell, nothing can make you sure about it and if assessment is positive then still its again depends on case officer and can reject straight forward saying degrees are sold and prove me that you didn't purchase it. So be ready with everything.

VETASSESS will not discriminate distance education degrees. But, they may downgrade the degree based on University and Marks scored. If you have scored less than 60%, then it'll be categorized as associate degree. So you'll lose 5 points for that. Make sure to check whether the degree is accredited by UGC. They have the entire list of Indian universities and have categorized them according to Australian standards.

Applicants with qualifications/employment as 232413 Multimedia Designer, 261211 Multimedia Specialist and 261212 Web Developer would not usually be assessed positively for this occupation.

I have scored 69% - 77% in all the semesters, so they will count it as bachelors. University had some issues back in 2012-2015 but now everything it fine. Recognized by UGC/DEC. Degree is highly relevant to my current occupation. So they should award 15 points for it.

I visited a MARA agent in my city and came to know that I need job offer for applying for NT. So this seems really hard.

And she also told me that I should wait till Sept 2019 to complete my 5 years of experience so in case they deduct 1 or 2 years then I have 3 years to claim 5 points.

For now I am just preparing for my English test

Your case is strong in this case.

This time can be strong, but back in 2014 when there was dispute between university and UGC I had rejection for student visa. However it was my fault that I was not aware of these things before applying, otherwise never applied. But now High Court has ordered in favor of student that degree obtained before June 2015 are valid and UGC also approved.

Did you check Northern Territory immigration site? Your occupation is on high priority list, which means there are high chances that they will nominate. Moreover you can get your occupation and education assessed now and, if you want to apply after a year or two you can just update your assessment report by paying a nominal fees. NT doesn't charge anything for application, same with Skill select EOI. Meanwhile you can get your english score. I recommend PTE-A as I found it easy to score higher marks. @others can add more inputs to this post.

I checked here but no where mentioned its on high priority, however I found it NT.GOV.AU where it comes under Industry priority occupations list .

Also NT needs job offer letter as told by a MARA agent so chances are very less and I see in next year SA will increase high points from 80 to 85 or might remove se occupation from the list.

Is it like 232414 this occupation come again in future or which are removed are permanently removed ?

Did you go through the entire site of Norther Territory immigration? Have they specifically asked for job offer for this job code or for overseas applicants? When I glanced through the site I found no restrictions for this job code. Anyways, I guess you have done the required research.
