On a student visa, how long does it take to call children there?

The Department of Home Affairs allows most students to bring their immediate family members to Australia as their dependents in a combined application or apply at a later date. Dependent family members include your spouse or de facto partner and dependent children. You must declare all your dependent family members in your student visa application, even if they do not travel with you. If declared, they can later join you in Australia as subsequent entrants.

For the Australian student visa you will have to prove that you have a sufficient level of funds available to support each dependent.

In short, anytime you can call once formalities are completed
