Hi all,

My profile is below:

Skill: 261111 (ICT Business Analyst)

Age - 30
Edu - 15
Exp - 05
Eng - 20
CCL - 05

Submitted my 189 & 190 (NSW) EOIs with 75 & 80 points respectively on 09 Apr 2019.

Can you please advise:

1. Do I have a chance to get 189 invite? If yes, is there any 'tentative' date / round?

2. Do I have a chance to get 190 invite from NSW?

3. Do NSW prefer ICT BA with 'high experience' points (as mine is just '5' when compared to many who has 10 or 15)?

Any help or trend stats would be helpful. Thanks in advance !

As per current status, it will take around an year, but after July when the new quota comes, situation might change in your favour
Do I have a chance to get 190 invite from NSW?
Yes but no dates can be specified as these are very subjective

This is the last criteria they will consider, the first three are Occupation, Total Points, English

I have applied for same with same points on January 31. The only difference is that I have claimed 5 points for professional year rather than experience. Still have heard no news. Will let you know if anything good happens

Hi @RatiPotter,

I was not able to reply on immitracker on your comment to provide my points breakdown. So here it is: My points breakdown: Age (25) + English (20) + Experience (10) + Qualification (10) + Skilled Partner with Competent English (10) + State Sponsorship (5) = 80 points for 189 Visa and 85 points for 190 Visa. I will get additional 5 more points in Feb when I complete 8 years skilled experience then I will have 85 points for 189 and 90 points for 190. Hope to get an invite then atleast. I see you got invited for 189, thats wonderful. All the best with everything your side. Hope all goes well.

Its only a pleasure :) By the way, I see I made a mistake when I typed the points, for qualification its 15 and not 10, that's how it is 80 points for 189 and 85 points for 190... Sorry about that, I only added up the points now and saw that something was amiss... Have a wonderful 2020

Hi again,

Just out of curiosity, once I get 85 for 189 and 90 for 190 points, do you think there will be a better chance for invite for either 189 or 190 VIC? I guess NSW won't invite me as I do not meet their additional criteria of working and living there for minimum a year.

Regards.

Hopefully yes, 90 is on the upper end (at least for 2611) and Vic would invite you. Let's hope for the same. đź‘Ť

What about 90 for 2613? Is this also on the upper end?

Sorry @cutiepie25, I'm not much aware about 2613 but I feel all 90 & above are relatively higher points. Hope 2020 invitation rounds send more invites than what we've seen in 2019.

Hi again,

Sorry for the trouble but just wanted your opinion on something. So I did my ACS under Business Analyst as I have enough experience as Business Analyst and IT Project Manager. Now i am confused if i should have done the ACS under ICT project manager as NSW does not have an additional requirement for Project Manager but they do have Business Analyst. And i see ICT project managers with my 85 points and put EOI after me already got their invites approved. But ICT project manager does not qualify for 189 that was why I went with the Business Analyst route but at the rate of the invites being sent, there is very slim to no chance of getting 189 for even Business analyst with points less than 90. I am very confused, what do you feel? Sorry for the essay.

Kind Regards

Hi Jasmine,

Thanks for reaching out. I believe you can do a ICT Project Manager assessment and an 190 EOI in parallel (but I'm not sure if it is too late as you've to invest money and time once again).

I read somewhere in the forum that one can file more than one EOI and on different skills based on their relevance / experience. May be experts like @mohsinciddiki can advise.

I agree if you want to take chances, you can go for ICT Project manager but keep in mind you can only choose one occupation after getting the ITA. As per current trend, it is only the game of choosing the best option as the choices are not much left due to high scores and less quota

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I do understand that I will have to pick one. I am just puzzled to see that ICT PM with lower points and lodged EOI after me already got invite, hence making me confused whether I should go that route. But yes, it will be at the cost of starting the queue again. Heard a rumour that ICT project manager will be moved to the medium to long term skills list from march? Any idea on that?

Thank you for your reply. I will do a bit of research on it before I re assess my ACS. I might just end up waiting with the current occupation and keep fingers crossed :) Anyways, I guess its good to know all the options... Thanks once again
