Are you talking about USA or some other countries, because the term PR is not used in the USA? Are you asking about Green Card?

Well, GC is a bit complex issue with several checks and criteria. The summarized lists are here
https://my.uscis.gov/exploremyoptions/green_card_eligibility

I believe it'll be hard to get a green card directly from student visa. You'll need a strong employment reference for that.

By the way, I stand corrected, Green Card is sometimes known as Permanent Resident Card, so you were correct :).

Consider before posting:
  • Do not post the same thing in multiple places.
  • No personal contact and/or non-English phrase is allowed.
  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
