You just need to have patience, sometimes the delays are nerve-touching, I agree.

Thank you. I got my visa today
Congrats - Now the whole point is how to cross the border - I am painfully watching my IED expiring in next 7 days with no clue when I will be able to travel😀

What visa were you granted and did you need to apply for travel exemption?

Permanent Residents with a visa in effect do not need to apply for a travel exemption. The Initial Entry Date is a visa condition which if breached can cause your visa to be cancelled, not an "activation" of sorts, contrary to popular belief. Since your IED has already passed, your visa is liable for cancellation - but if you contact Home Affairs they can exercise discretion to not cancel the visa and provide you with a Travel Facilitation Letter.

It may be worth contacting a migration agent or lawyer to advocate on your behalf.

  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
