For those who wants to add their family members in their Visa application, you can find the detail requirements in below link

Requirements for adding family members in Visa application

Please note that your family members must be able to show that they meet health and character requirements.

Another common confusion is unborn children, DIBP has clear instruction regarding that:

DIBP said:
If a child is born after an application is lodged, but before it is decided, the child will automatically be included in their parents' application(s). It does not matter if the child is born in or outside Australia. The parent will need to inform DIBP about the birth.

Thank you Mystic for creating this thread. While filling the form 1436 for my adult siblings, I noticed there is only options to include child and parent ( point 5) but there is no option to add my relatives. I have following queries:

1- Is this correct form to fill for other dependant relative or there is some other form to add my siblings?

2- If 1436 is correct form, then how and where can I mention that I am filling this form for my siblings?

That's a valid question. In the beginning of the form 1436 it is written that

Form 1436 said:
Important: If the person who is seeking to be added is not either a dependent child or partner (spouse or de facto) of the main applicant who lodged the original visa application, then generally they will need to complete a separate visa application form and pay the base application charge and other applicable charges needed to lodge a visa application.

But there is no clear guideline how to do that. So, I'd suggest to seek advise from your CO about how exactly you can do that.

Once you get some reply, please share with us the process to let us know.

Hello Everyone, I am not pretty sure if this is the correct forum to ask my question. I am applying for Australian Visa and want to add my mother-in-law as dependent who is already 60 years old and her primary language is Hindi (mother tongue in India) .She didn't study in english language at all but she can understand basic english. I want to know will we need to bear second visa installment for not having functional english. Or, they can relax the fees considering her age and non-employment need.

Well, in my knowledge, you have to pay them that secondary installment, if you are including her as your dependent in 189/190 visa class.

I'd like to know if I can add my Parents to 189 or 190 visa? I am adding my spouse, can I add my parents too?
If they are your dependent, yes you can.

What is the criteria?
They have to be your dependent.

If I dont add them now, can I get them to australia as Dependents in the future? Is there a particular process for that?
You can, there are different sub classes for them

Thanks MysticRiver, all the formalities related to my application are completed (including the second installment for my dependent) and I am hoping to receive my Visa any day :) as I read somewhere that they ask for second installment only in case everything is fine with visa application and only visa grant is pending.

Congratulations. You are right, if they ask for the second installment, it is almost certain that all your background checks went smooth.

Very nice to hear, and we'll be looking forward to have you on board even after your grant. We'd also love to hear you experience in settling in Australia. Also, you are always welcome to ask any question at any stage of your settlement.

I am holding the 189 Visa and want to apply the PR for my newly born daughter. I want to know if the PR can be applied when she reaches Australia. I got to know that its difficult to get the tourist visa from India for Australia unless you apply for the PR in India. Has anyone applied for PR for a child after reaching Australia?

Hello @niharika,

Can you please share like when you have sent mail for second visa application charges, how many does it took for you to get details to make the payment.

I have to do the same for my wife and waiting for the payment details to arrive, I have other job related documents which case officer has requested which I shall be uploading tomorrow.

Kindly share your feedback on the same.

Best Regards,
Anurag Singh

Hi Anurag,

DIBP sends you the mail asking for the second installment charges and you need to make the payment within the stipulated time (its around 70 days). I would advise you to upload the payment receipt to the Immi account as soon as its made for faster visa decision.

Wish you good luck.

Thank you @niharika for the quick and kind response.

Can you please share the duration like in which you got response from the authorities when you requested them to share the information to pay the second VAC over mail, like they responded to you with details in a day or two or they took a week.

For my wife I have requested them to share the information to me to make payment around 3 days back still no response.

Thanking you for your response in advance.

Best Regards,
Anurag Singh

Hi Anurag,

As per my experience, they never reply to your mails. They will send the request on their own when they are done with other checks. They will send mail to make the second VAC with details on how to make the payment. In our case, it took sometime around 1 month after we uploaded the additional requested documents (as we were 4 people in visa application).

When did you upload your documents and did they ask for any additional document so far?

Hello @niharika thanks for your kind response.

Case officer came back with request to provide 2 additional documents:
1. My work experience related additional documents.
2. My wife's medium of instructions letter.

I have sent a mail to the mentioned id, requesting to share the details on information to make the payment around 4 days back, and yesterday I had uploaded my work experience related document which are requested by case officer.

So, I wanted to know like case officer has given 28 days and uploaded my job related documents, and sent a mail also within that period, and my worry is what will happen if the case officer misses my mail requesting the information for second visa application charges.

What is your opinion on this, like do I send a reminder on the mail.

Best Regards,
Anurag Singh
