Australia Is 80.000 AUD (plus annual 9%) considered a good salary in Australia?

Hi everyone,
I haven't stumble upon this topic before. So, I was wondering about the cost of living in Australia. I'm aware that it's quite expensive to live there (rentals especially), so what is your opinion on the salary of 80k AUD? Can it support the family of 4? (In Virginia for instance, renting somewhere outside Melbourne)
I know it all depends on many elements, but please, let's start from somewhere.

Thank you!

yup it is decent and I agree with MysticRiver.

I live in Sydney and you can survive comfortably here as well with that package , though you might not have big savings.

Living in Sydney comfortably with that? Over half of the income will go to home rental won't it....

What is the standard salary package breakdown there in Australia.
In KSA, standard package breakdown is as fallows; Basic Salary, Housing Allowance, %age of Basic (Normally 25%), Transportation allowance (normally a fixed value let say 500 or 1000 SAR or provided by company), Food Allowance (normally a fixed value let say 500 or 1000 SAR or provided by company), Tax free, Medical Insurance by company. I am just curios about Australia Standard Salary Breakdown.

I said "survive" so you need to live in survival mode and yes almost half salary will go into rental.
my monthly expense is about 5000 (almost fixed cannot go below that apart from moving further to city and get a cheaper rental)

also i am no 457 visa so i do not get any rebates or benefits and if it is alright for me. A person on PR should be good with 4700 $

I do not see many components in my salary slip.
i think only standard deductions are super annuation fund around 9 % and rest income tax deduction which would depend on your pay bracket
