I would share my experience of 2 ACS skill assessments I did.

SA-1 263213 ICT Systems Test Engineer
Date of submission : 19 July 2019
Date of Approval : 04 Sep 2019

I lost one of my mark sheet and it was difficult to get it from my university (Calicut). One case office contacted me multiple times to submit the same. But I said, it was complex process and requested to consider an exception. So at last, she approved after 8 weeks of waiting.

My wife also applied in the same date for Software Tester 261314 and she got the approval within 5 weeks by submitting all the docs.

Later we got to know that, we both cannot apply for SC189 due to these job codes. So my wife applied second SA skill assessment on Dec-1st and she got the positive response in the second week of Jan due to holidays.

SA-2 Computer Network and Systems Engineer 263111
Date of submission : 24 July 2020
Date of Approval : 31 Aug 2019

Compared to last year, this time we had to submit so many docs due to last year ACS docs requirement. I arranged the mark sheet which was missing in last ACS application. I was ready with all docs and submitted the docs as below. Even though I’ve 16 years of experience, didn’t want to show first 2 companies (4 years); so mentioned only about 12 years experience with current company.

Payslips (all from July 2008 to June 2020)
Form 16 (2008 to 2020)
PF statements (2008 to 2020)
Bank Statements (2008 to 2020) - HDFC. Requested online and I got it within a week. Marked the salary details in yellow color
R&R in Company letterhead (Last year, I submitted only the notary attested one. This time, I checked with HR and they issued after I prepared the sheet and got it approved by my manager)

So with all these docs, there was no questions asked by ACS and got the approval within 6 weeks.

Thanks all for your suggestions and all the best for the new ACS SA applicants.

Was it mentioning your employer's name too? I heard ACS is not accepting payslips without it as per their new requirement

Yes. It's having the Employer name details and we marked the same in yellow colour. Else it was difficult to read because of 12 year details and many transactions :).

I get it. People are facing issues with this point, despite having bank statements they are still unable to use it just because some banks don't put employer names on their statements.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I wanted to do a skill assessment for my wife from Software tester to software engineer. Did you get updated roles and responsibilities from the companies or used the same one as a software tester? Also did you indicate a reference to ACS about the first skill assessment when you submitted the second?

We've updated the roles and showed only the relevant details for SE/Computer network engineer. I've prepared the details along with my manager and she approved that to HR for printing in company letter head. We didn't show the earlier ACS reference.

Did you have your payslips printed month by month? I'm requesting my previous employer to reissue the payslips and they never had one, we were just notified via email that we got paid... so I'm wondering if that has to be month by month or can it be a summary. If the one you had was a summary would you mind sharing the format please?

You need to have monthly payment proofs. If it was long period then few from start, mid and end will also work

Yes; the payslips are monthly basis and I submitted all from 2008 to till date. But as above said, you may need to submit at least 2-3 per year.

Depending on your course list and their relevancy
) I have 5 years of experience in s/w testing (will they deduct 2 years or more{//chances?})
Yes, 2-years deduction is mandatory for ICT Major with high relevancy to the occupation
what happens when you provided normal/notarry(ed) reference letter(because I am planning to get it from my managers, as HR are shaky heads).
Nothing happens, what is the query? If it fulfils the requirement it will be treated as a reference letter

Hi This is Shubhrajit and have submitted all relevant docs for skill assessment on 27th June 2024. My total relevant work experience is12 years working as Software development manager currently. I completed my masters in computer application but my graduation was in Microbiology so wanted to check how many years of work experience would be deducted. Any idea?

It sounds like you're inquiring about how your non-related educational background might affect your work experience assessment. Typically, skills assessment bodies deduct years from your work experience if your qualifications are not directly related to your nominated occupation. It's best to check with the specific assessment authority you've submitted your documents to for their exact policies on this matter. They will provide you with the most accurate information regarding deductions based on your educational background.
