Hi,

I will be applying for visa 190 (sponsored by QLD) in a matter of weeks, once my PhD gets through formally. I have two questions about Health requirements:

1) Is it really beneficial to arrange the health examination before applying for a visa? Although the official website seems to recommend doing this, I've seen various opinions on forums (e.g. the health check might expire if my case is process slowly). Has anyone been through this recently?

2) I had a look at the 'my health declaration' form. On page 2 I am asked to select the Visa subclass I intend to apply to. The visa 190 is not in the list. Am I supposed to select visa 189 instead?

Thank you very much,
Martin

Because that's subjective. Doing it prior to application can save you some processing time, but you run the risk of redoing that if your processing takes a long time. In any case, I don't recommend doing it at least before you get an invitation, preferably not before your lodge a visa application.

That I am not sure of.

Thanks for your answer. I will wait before starting the health checks so my second question becomes less relevant :) .
