Applicable from 16/11/2019

The following changes will be implemented on that date :

Partner points (only 1 score allowed)
10 points – if you are single
10 points – if you have a partner who is an Australian citizen or Permanent resident
10 points – if partner has an acceptable skills assessment and competent english
05 points – if your partner has competent english (IELTS 6,6,6,6 or equivalent)
00 points – any other case


Applicable to all categories including 189, 190 and new visa 491 (Note: 489 will be closed on 16/11/2019)

Highlights:
  • Single/having an Ausi partner will be having an extra edge.
  • If you have a partner, he/she needs to have at least some assessable skill and/or good English ability.

or wait till November 2019?
Well tbh on 65 pts there is almost no chance. So you can wait till nov and meanwhile you may try for 489 visa (which is going to close in november too)

Again I think this new points system wouldn't make much of a difference as majority of the applicants would be entitled to it, only pushing up the cut off points.
