I have 75 Points in 489 and 70 Points in 190 . My occupation is not listed in State in Demand Occupation list but its in STSOL (Short-term Skilled Occupation List of 2017-18) , i have created two EOI's , one for all states except NSW with ( 489+190 Options ) and another for only New South Wales -for only 190 Visa , What are my chances of getting invite from NSW . Any reply is much appreciated .
Note - South Australia accepting my occupation but with only 85 points
Regards

It is impossible to comment on chances, especially about 190/489SS due to lack of data. Also, what is your occupation? Update your timeline.

Note that, being in STSOL but not in state's list doesn't make you eligible for all the states. While NSW accepts such cases under stream 2, several other states want you to be their list to be eligible.

The skills which are NOT in NSW priority list, but in STSOL, NSW put those in Stream 2 with less priority. So, those skills are not impossible to get invitation, but has less priority than the ones in NSW priority list (Stream 1).

Thanks . so does score play any role ?since I have 70 points in 190? If I select 489 in NSW too, will it affect my chances for 190 ?

I am not sure how exactly NSW process this because they didn't reveal anything. They just mention that Stream 2 will get low priority in nomination. At the worst case scenario, they will invite Stream 2 only after Stream 1 is finished. On the other hand, it is possible that they give priority to Stream 1 for the cases with the same point only.

Thanks a ton, i still have one doubt . I f i select 190 and 489 both in NSW, what will be implications on 190 ? As far as i can understand for 489 in NSW you need to go to specific region and apply with paying AUD $700 fee, I was wondering if i can select 489 in skill select but will i get get invotation from state ( still one need to go and apply separately ) Here is the link

You can select both, but I prefer you submit separate EOIs for them. It'll give you more flexibility.

So one EOI for 190 and one EOI for 489 ? Pls confirm
I'm asking you this because for 489 you have to apply separately as provided in above link by paying $700. So should I apply to regions (7 regions in case of NSW) or just create unique EOI without applying to specific regions. This is still not clear to me. Thanks

I am not sure what you are saying. First of all, there should not be any fee involved until you get the nomination. Second thing is, can you apply for a specific region within a state (e.g. NSW)? I highly doubt.

If you follow this link :

https://www.industry.nsw.gov.au/liv...tion/skilled-regional-nominated-migration-489

It says :
Participating NSW regions
NSW Department of Industry works in partnership with participating Regional Development Authorities (RDA) committees in NSW to deliver the 489 program.

Under this arrangement, NSW RDAs that choose to participate in the 489 program can select and nominate candidates whose skills are needed in their region.

Participating regions determine their own list of eligible occupations as well as any additional eligibility criteria.

Seven regions in NSW participate in NSW's 489 program. These are:
So what is the importance of creating separate EOI for 489 when , the application needs to submiited specifically ?

I hope this is clear , sorry for long post

You are right, I was not aware of this. On the same page, you'll find the application step, you should follow that.

Basically, it says you submit a single EOI for NSW 489 and then apply individual NSW RDA for the nomination. I believe it means you can apply all the NSW RDA (that you are eligible) against 1 EOI.

NSW said:
How to apply
  1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in DIBP's SkillSelect.
Ensure that you meet DIBP 489 visa criteria.
  2. Apply to the relevant NSW RDA for nomination and wait for the outcome.
Ensure that you meet the participating RDA's 489 nomination criteria.
  3. If you are nominated by NSW, apply for the visa to DIBP.
  4. If your visa is granted, move to your nominating region in NSW and commence your commitment to live and work in the region.

Thanks I already created EOI for 489 now I have to decide which region to apply as it involves $700.

Hmm, $770 seems a bit high as the invitation is n guaranteed.

For states, it can happen anytime. For 189, it'll be in next July.
