What does the occupation ceiling means, does that mean that for that month the quota has reached and new list will be revealed next month.

Also, is this for 189 or for 190 as well?

For Computer Network Professionals 263111, every month they are going to release 164 invitation is that correct?

Nope, the ceiling means the maximum number of invitations that will occur throughout the year (Jul-Jun). For example, Computer Network Professionals has the ceiling value of 1986, means from Jul'15-Jun'16, maximum 1986 people will be invited in Subclass 189 and 489. And from the above table, you can see first 2 rounds had invited 164 and 140 people respectively (so, total 304 invitations so far, still 1682 places remaining).

And this ceiling only affects sub class 189 and 489. Subclass 190 is independent of this DBP ceilings, they will be called whenever the state approves the sponsorship.

If you have applied in subclass 190, all you need to wait for state approval. You haven't received anything yet means the state hasn't approved your sponsorship yet.

one small doubt, how come you come to know the jan2016 ceiling status in august 2015 itself.....
Not sure what you are asking. Above table shows how many invitations have been sent in each invitation round for each occupation.

there is no invitation for architectural draftspersons ....code is 312111 although its in skill occupation list. what might be the reason for that?
If they are not inviting any of them till now why that is included in SOL?

Where did you find category Architectural Draftspersons (312111) in Skilled Occupation List (SOL)?

The category Architectural Draftspersons (312111) is not listed in SOL. Rather it is listed in CSOL (Consolidated SOL).

CSOL is mainly for state sponsored visa whereas SOL is for independent category. See here the difference between these two lists.

The above ceiling is only for subclass 189 (independent) and 489 (family sponsored). For state sponsored subclass (190, 480 state sponsored etc.), there is no ceiling maintained by DIBP as the selection is maintained by respective state.

Unfortunately, neither NSW nor DIBP release any such information. It'd be very nice had they released, and I wish they'd do in future.

Hi Mysticriver, glad to find such a forum that is splendid and pretty useful.
I am very interested in where you get the data of invited number on every occupation. That is very useful. And I wonder if so can we know the distribution of invited score for a specific occupation.

Another question is about the filling of ceiling number. For example, 234113-agricultural scientist, the filling proportion is only around 15%. And now almost the end of the program year. Dose that mean if the filling rate of one occupation is pretty low, any applicant can be almost invited in the next round as long as he /she gets 60 points.

Cheers,

The data has been accumulated from DIBP websites over the time. We present the accumulated data in user friendly format, that's all.

Unfortunately, DIBP does not release this information.

The exact science of how SkillSelect choose invitees is not revealed. However, it is certain that the occupation plays a vital role in the invitation process. For example, it has been a common case that in a invitation round, while the minimum point (that got invitation) went down to 60, people with 65 points did not get any invitation in certain occupations. So, to answer your question, there is a possibility of that, but can't be certain as the process is totally controlled by DIBP, and not black and white.

Hi, MisticRiver, can we kindly share me the link where the DIBP show how many people invited for each occupation per round. I can not find that.

Cheers.
