Also some numbers don't seem to make sense. For e.g. Till about last year Software Programmers had about 6k odd places in the program and this year with reduced number of planned invitations overall this number has only gone up. Am I missing some part of the puzzle here.

Occupation ceiling values are based on a percentage of stock employment figures for each occupation. Stock employment figures are provided by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and represent the number of people employed in Australia in each occupation.

Occupation ceilings do not apply to State or Territory Nominated, Employer Sponsored or Business Innovation and Investment visa subclasses.

For 189, invitations are purely based on point and DOE, doesn't matter what is the past invitation history.

Consider before posting:
  • Do not post the same thing in multiple places.
  • No personal contact and/or non-English phrase is allowed.
  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
