Hi @Sajith85
I've decided not to obtain PCC from Qatar. Below are my reasons.
- I was in Qatar for less than 1 year.
- More than half of my stay was under business visa.
- Other part (less than 6 months) was on residence permit.
- As per some of the reputed agency websites, Qatar PCC is issued only if you have been a resident in Qatar for greater than 6 months.
Given all the above reasons, I've decided to take a chance with Qatar PCC. However, below is what I could gather as options.
- Qatar embassy in Australia website has process listed on how you can get it.
- There is are a few agents who can arrange it for you. Charges and period range. There is on Kerlala (mentioned in previous posts). They are charging INR 30,000 and state it would take 5 weeks. There is another one in Qatar by name Afreno. They are charging USD 750 and state it would take 2 weeks.
- You can authorise someone in Qatar to apply on your behalf. But there are a lot of formalities. You need to create a power of attorney. Get it signed by Qatar Embassy and Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a few others.
As you see all the above options are painful, either process wise or financially.
One thing worth trying is getting someone you know in Qatar to visit the the relevant office in Qatar and ask them to get to know the process.
If you get to know of any other process or do manage to get it, please do let me know. I can then follow the same process as a bakcup.
Good luck.
