Hi All

Can anyone guide me how to obtain PCC from Qatar? I am currently in Australia. Is it possible to obtain Qatar PCC from Australia? Or is it more easier to get it from Qatar?

Any pointers/guidance would be immensely helpful.

Thank you.

Give a call to Qatar embassy here in Australia, they should advise you on this matter.

Hi,

The direct way is to contact the QA embassy in AUS. Or else you can contact one of the agencies in QA to help you. I know one of the agency which has been doing this service but not sure whether they are doing nowadays. The name is HELPLINE GROUP . Try searching in google and contact them.

Hi @Sajith85

I've decided not to obtain PCC from Qatar. Below are my reasons.

  1. I was in Qatar for less than 1 year.
  2. More than half of my stay was under business visa.
  3. Other part (less than 6 months) was on residence permit.
  4. As per some of the reputed agency websites, Qatar PCC is issued only if you have been a resident in Qatar for greater than 6 months.
Given all the above reasons, I've decided to take a chance with Qatar PCC. However, below is what I could gather as options.

  1. Qatar embassy in Australia website has process listed on how you can get it.
  2. There is are a few agents who can arrange it for you. Charges and period range. There is on Kerlala (mentioned in previous posts). They are charging INR 30,000 and state it would take 5 weeks. There is another one in Qatar by name Afreno. They are charging USD 750 and state it would take 2 weeks.
  3. You can authorise someone in Qatar to apply on your behalf. But there are a lot of formalities. You need to create a power of attorney. Get it signed by Qatar Embassy and Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a few others.
As you see all the above options are painful, either process wise or financially.

One thing worth trying is getting someone you know in Qatar to visit the the relevant office in Qatar and ask them to get to know the process.

If you get to know of any other process or do manage to get it, please do let me know. I can then follow the same process as a bakcup.

Good luck.

I have gone through the process of getting the PCC from Qatar however I did it by being physically there. I explored the above. But noted that I could get a transit visa, dropped in at the PCC Ministry of Interior office. No appointment necessary.

Documents they needed from me were:
1. Copy of Resident ID ( I had kept a copy on email and had to have it certified before they took the original when I left Qatar)
2. My Passport
3. 2 Passport Photos
4. Police Certificates from my other resident countries.
They just had a look at them at the entrance, I took a ticket and waited in line. Payment is by card over the counter as your number comes up. Cost was about 10 + Credit card surcharge in QR.

You can send to someone there to submit it on you behalf the cost is the same but you need:
1. A power of attorney with the details of the person doing it for you.
2. Certified documents by a government entity (Including finger prints from local police and passport pages of entry and exit from Qatar, and Copy of Resident permit) Take this to the Qatar Embassy in the country you are applying from to certify again! (I think this was quoted at 50$ per document when I asked)
3. Letter to the DG or MOI - mention request for PCC and the purpose/use.
4. Passport size photos x2.

For me it took 3 days (Sunday applied text received on Thursday same week) or so however I took mine on my transit trip back from where I was traveling to at the time about 3 weeks later.

All the best.

ps. this was in 2018.
