Hi all,
I am an offshore applicant who just submitted the skill assessment on 7 Oct 2020. According to the occupation list in FY19/20, the occupation is only under the sub class 190 and 491. I understand the whole condition (e.g. COVID-19, economics of Australia, policy of GSM etc) might not be favourable for offshore applicants and everything becomes uncertain at this stage. I just want to gather some thoughts from you to make further decision on the strategy in lodging 190 and 491.
Here's my current point: (I am working hard on PTE 79+ and NATTI CCL for claiming more points)
1. Age: 30 (aged 31; reaching 33y/o in May 2022)
2. English Proficiency: 10 (PTE 65+)
3. Overseas Experience: 10 (might reach 8 years of working experience in Feb 2021)
4. Qualifications: 15 (bachelor degree)
5. Single: 10
Total Point: 75 (190 sponsorship: 80; 491 sponsorship: 90)
Many agents suggest lodging 190 and 491 at the same time to grasp every opportunity given that migrating Australia is getting harder and harder, however, I am quite worried about meeting the taxable income of at least $53,900 for at least 3 years in regional areas under 491 in order to become a PR. In this regard, I would prefer 190 to 491, if possible. On the other hand, I am also struggled for losing the chance to migrate to Australia if I just pursue 190 entirely since 491 as a second priority is better than none. In addition, I have to consider the deduction of my age score by May 2022.
With this score (assuming the GSM is open for offshore applicants again and the occupation is still on list like FY19/20),
1. how high is the chance for 190 (NSW) given that the occupation is in medium demand in FY19/20? or 190 (NT)?
2. is it worth spending time to wait for 190 for some time and lodge 491 later?
3. if yes, how long should I wait for given that my age score will be lowered by May 2022?
4. if no, which means I have to lodge both 190 and 491 at the same time, can I still wait for invitation for 190 after accepting invitation for 491, if any, or even at the stage of paying for the 491 visa application fee, then withdraw 491 if I have news from the invitation for 190, provided that I have separate EOIs?
5. any other good suggestion to maximize the chance in getting the 190 (apart from getting a higher score which I am trying)?
Your advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
