Hi Komal,
As posted in the earlier reply, it depends on your situation (i.e your job/education ) and your preference of the location (i.e. dense populated or sparsely populated area) etc.
In general, I found Ferryden Park (5010) and corresponding area is suitable if you want a moderate distance from the CBD yet wish a reasonable quietness. Another area around the Mawson Lake is better place if someone in your family studies in the Uni. Usually sublet option is available there. In terms of extremes, either you could move to the Salisbury (if you really onto quite place) or CBD (if all the commodity distance is the main concern). In general when you look for the rent options, post code closer to 5000 would be nearer to city whereas higher number indicates the distance from the city.
If you are first comer in Adelaide, I think Prospect and surrounding area would be a good option as there would be very good options for markets/shops/super-malls etc as well as plenty of cheap auto-shops(which is always a benefit to have nearby at least in the beginning) and also its not far for the city, only caveat is this area is not as secured and secluded as other area like Salisbury.
Last but not the list, living place need to be near the job location specially if the job is casual in nature which is most likely the case in the beginning. Later on, when you get a regular job in your area of expertise ( most likely that would be around the CBD area), the living location wouldn't matter as you might drive or get the train/bus to get to the job. So at that time, the school (if you have kids) and markets would be the priority to have nearby.
Hopefully had provided quite a few options to begin with..
Regards
