Hi,
I have received my visa subclass 190 from Victoria and I have time up to 9th July for landing in Asutralia and doing the paper works. And we know I have to stay in Victoria for 2 years before I can go somewhere else.My question is, does this 2 years means I have to be there from July 2016 to July 2018 and then its done, or it means I can go and do my paper works in July and leave Asutralia and come back sometime in 2017? How basically this staying in Victoria works in terms of 2 years timer. And the second question is, if I get a job in other states than Victoria, is there a way to work there although Victoria been sponsoring the Visa?
Many thanks and looking forward to hearing your idea.
Cheers,
Mo

There is no start date or so. You have to spend first 2 years (cumulatively) of your stay in Victoria. You can do it at once or by turns, but you have to complete 365*2 days in Victoria.

When they say you have to stay, that doesn't mean you can't go outside Vic. It's just that you have to work in Victoria and your permanent abode should be in Victoria.

However, the rule is not very hardly followed, usually they don't deny you taking job outside the state. However, if you plan to apply for citizenship after you become eligible in future, that time the question might be asked. But it is not confirmed, just a guess. Other than that I haven't heard they deny any one (in subclass 190) to live/work outside the sponsoring state.

So you should try your best to get some job in Vic, but in case all the attempts fail I think you can try outside. Just my 2 cents.

Hi SAM,
I have done my assesment by ACS ( Security specialist ) and then applied for state sponsorship ( From Victoria- because my occupation at a time was in their list of demand ).After receiving my sponsorship I completed my EOI and then applied for visa in ImmiAccount. My state sponsorship was ready in 10 days and after that it took about 2 and half month till I got my visa.
all the best and good luck mate!

Hi MysticRiver, I couldn't 100% understand from what you mentioned in your reply. Could you please confirm it again:
- I have visa subclass 190 sponsored by Victoria state. My deadline for landing is July this year. Is it possible for me to go to Melbourne in July and do my paper works and stay for a week and come back to South Africa, then move permanently back to Melbourne sometime in next year Jan or Feb? Is it affecting anything in my visa that if I don't stay the whole year or going there and moving back and going again after sometime? ( Its about amount of saving I have now and just being cautious to have more time to have saving for atleast 6 month if I couldn't find a job there.)

Thanks so much and would really appreciate your response as I am being completely nervous about it this days.

You are right. You can do that. There is no rule that you have to stay 2 years continuously. It's just that whenever you stay in Aus (continuously or by part), you should stay in Vic for first 2 years of your stay in Aus (so you can stay in batches, let say initially for 6 months, then in 2018 you come back and stay 1 year, and then 2020 you finish last 6 months of the the 2 years quota).

it's just that you have to give an entry, even if for 1 day, to Aus by July deadline.

And another thing is though your visa is valid forever, your entry permit is valid for 5 years. That means if you can't obtain a passport by that time, you can not re-enter Aus after 5 years with this visa (but if you are in Aus at that time, you can stay without an issue) unless you get an extension (in the form or resident return visa). So you should plan accordingly.

Actually this is a very tough question to answer the chance of getting selected, specially with 60 points. Several people got selected with 60 points in Vic, so for sure you shouldn't be thinking in a negative way. As a matter of fact I think it is a rather unimportant question though most of the people are concerned by this. Just apply as soon as possible, and in future if the situation changes (e.g. your point increases), edit your EOI or submit another. Two things to remember,

1) You can submit as many EOI as you want or edit uninvited EOI as many times as you want. Just don't accept multiple invitation.

2) Once invited, you visa outcome or the processing time won't depend on your point.

Hi,
I think its important to get your qualification evaluation first. But if you received that and your points are 55, then I believe with 5 points from state sponsorship you can apply.
All the bests.

As simple as, the official list is mandatory, other documents which you think is relevant and should be helpful are optional, and irrelevant documents are not recommended.

Like in every other cases in the real world :).
