Hi I would like to apply the Independent skilled visa of occupation “arts administrator or arts manager” but I got negative assessment result. I am wondering whether it’s worth to do re-assessment or change occupation ? In order to apply for the PR as I am 43 years old, max age limited is 45.
1. This occupation required relevant subject. My degree is Marketing and seems not relevant. But I have advanced diploma of drawing & painting at Chinese university, does it count?
2. Working experience
I)2 years art gallery retail manager - managing 5 galleries in HK. Leading the retail team, educating them art appreciation skills, staffing, inventory control, selecting art pieces, design planogram display, working closely with marketing team to drivers marketing content, design exhibition calendar, oversee the team to ensure good after-sales services and boost the sales target
II) 2 years of performance arts centre development officer experience, managing the centre’s daily operation, sales and marketing, also working closely with the Famous Choir to create music program and explore new programs
III) 10 years art gallery sales and marketing experience of Fine Antique gallery. In charge of exhibitions, display, collection PR promotion etc.
IV) 2 years of marketing executive of contemporary art gallery. Working closely with Chinese artist and promoting their artworks in HK.
I am so disappointed that about the negative assessment that due to my role is more focus on sales and marketing, so it’s not relevant.
According to the occupation 139911 -Arts administrator or manager plans, organise, creates, control, promote the artistic and cultural policies.
The primary responsibility is steering the artistic and cultural policies, program and project.
The facts is I am really Did everything it described, I am so confused, should I re-submit further details to clarify? or No need as my job title is mainly focus on Sales and Marketing? And my degree is not relevant anyway?
3) If change occupation, which one should I change, so that I can apply for the Independent skilled visa? (Because marketing special and sales wasn’t able to apply for the Independent skilled visa)
Appreciate your advise thanks! I desperate would like to have your urgent solution to help out.. thanks so much
best,
Alice
