Hi guys,
I have a couple of doubts here.
I am awaiting the ITA, and expect it in Nov/Dec. I am currently in Qatar, and I intend to move back to India once I lodge the application. In such a case, I understand that I've to submit the changes via form 1023, updating the address and contact number.

I've the following questions in my mind.
1. Since I am sure that there will be a change in address and the number, will it be better for me to provide the details in my application itself, thereby eliminating the requirement for 1023? (even though the changes will be effective within a month of application)
2. If I provide the native home address prior to moving back, the travels dates in the form 80 could not be exact since the dates cannot be confirmed prior. Will this create an issue?
3. The expiry of my wife's passport is in April 2018. In case we get the grant prior to that (I know its a little far fetched thinking :D) will it be better to renew it after reaching Aus, or do you suggest doing it prior to that and submit a 1023?

Awaiting your valuable suggestions! @MysticRiver @Rakshanda

You can not do that :)

2. If I provide the native home address prior to moving back, the travels dates in the form 80 could not be exact since the dates cannot be confirmed prior. Will this create an issue?

Cant happen, since you can not submit something prior to happening

3. The expiry of my wife's passport is in April 2018. In case we get the grant prior to that (I know its a little far fetched thinking :D) will it be better to renew it after reaching Aus, or do you suggest doing it prior to that and submit a 1023?

Get things done prior to moving to Australia. Commonly there are a lot of things you would have to do when you reach there. Hence my suggestion is to get it renewed before.

Thanks @Rakshanda
So, for the above queries, the following will be my course of action.
For Q1 & Q2, I'll submit 1023 after moving back to India. Guess it won't result in any kinda delay in the process.

For Q3, we can renew the passport only once back in India, since some address proof are reqd. But, if we submit the application with the current passport and renew it later on, it will require another 1023 to be submitted won't it?

Suppose we receive the grant prior to renewal, then what shall we do?

Nop it wont, if its after grant.

In my country the passport number always remains the same. So it doesn't really matter I think. I am not sure about India.

Hi @Rakshanda & @MysticRiver ,
We have thought over the issues, and arrived at a conclusion for the time being. Need your opinion on the same.

1. We changed the plan to move back to India after lodging the app. Thought will stay back a couple of months more, thereby avoiding any address/contact change and change in the travel details. So the Q1 & Q2 goes clear.
2. We'll renew my wife's passport from Qatar itself, which'll take about 10 days, and then will lodge the application. The changes we thought of bringing to the passport can wait for a couple of years more. So, Q3 also is clear.

But, only doubt now we are having is that, none of our passports will be having the spouse name in them. Will that create any issue? We are having the marriage certificate though.

What say you?

Thats a really good decision.

I am glad you are understanding is good that if you are getting into things now will make your application wait for more. Good one again.

But, only doubt now we are having is that, none of our passports will be having the spouse name in them. Will that create any issue? We are having the marriage certificate though.

Many people do not change their names after marriage yet marriage certificates are there to prove the authenticity. Hence there wont be any issues. Like in my case, my elder sister didn't changed her name, but I did on my passport and CNIC too. So no issues there.
