Relevant Skilled Employment assessment mandatory or optional for a guy claiming points...as i already got invitation today based on those points but i have not gone through Relevant Skilled Employment assessment

If you mean you claimed for something in your EOI and now you do not have it, then get it done before you apply for the visa. You shouldn't have claimed for the points of skilled assessment on the first place if you didn't had one.

I believe he meant for relevant skill employment assessment from EA, which is, unlike ACS, an optional add on for EA migration skill assessment.

Well, last time I checked with EA, they said it was optional byt "highly recommended" to avoid delay in visa processing stage. However, that is few years back, so you should send an email to EA now for an update (and please let use know what they answered).

Here is the reply from EA that I received few years back regarding this matter

So does this means engineers can get an invite and apply for a visa without an assessment as well? That's something different, thank you for the corrections @MysticRiver

Nope, you were not wrong. Engineers or else, nobody can apply without an assessment. The thing is, for Engineers Australia, the migration skill assessment is segregated into two parts

1) Standard assessment
2) Relevant Skilled Employment Assessment

#1 is mandatory, #2 is optional. In #2, they verify your employment whereas in #1, they assess you skill based on your competency and qualification.

Thats not what we are discussing here...i have got positive skill asessment from EA....where as with respect to employment assesment...that is an add on service...i havent apllied for this additional employment assesment...thinking i can manage to get 79+ in all four sections after 5 failed attempts... i decided to go with employment..which is rlevant...n i can prove it

You are welcome. Yes, it is always better to be on the safe side by not releasing personal contact/confidential information.

Hi everyone,
After reading above discussion, this is what I understand;
If i have sufficient skilled experience with all proper documents (payslips, recommendation letter etc.) and I am able to claim points for it, I can claim points immediately and i dont need EA employment assessment to update EOI. Is this right?

Correct but you are highly recommended to do so to avoid any lengthy scrutiny from DIBP.

You definitely have to do the assessment before you get an invitation, but not sure about that. Never seen such case.

Thanks @MysticRiver, thing is i am completing my one year of local experience on 27th march and mostly there will a round in first week of april.
So, i was thinking to claim my points on 28th march and after that get my employment assessed.
As on DHA website in document checklist, I can't find EA employment assessment letter.

Like I said, it's not mandatory. You can claim it if you want.

Consider before posting:
  • Do not post the same thing in multiple places.
  • No personal contact and/or non-English phrase is allowed.
  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
