Dear All,

After submitting our application, the biggest fear of ours is CO requirements for further assessment delaying our grant. Therefore, let us gather all the possible situations where CO would request more details and let's get ready and equipt to face similar situations.

Hence, I kindly request from all the seniors, staff members, and other members who were contacted by CO, to provide the reasons for CO requirement and the details you provided in return to fulfill the need.

Since, no one was kind enough to share their experiences, I though of elaborating the details I learnt so far one by one. I hope this will help someone in need.
(I am not an agent or an expertise in this field. details gathered only from the forums and websites. This discussion is open to add more details and share your experiences or to correct the details if any of these are false) :)
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

CO requirements started once we submitted the application and upon the allocation of the CO for our case. Since then, CO would contact us for several reasons as verification, clarifications, for more details, corrections etc.

1. PC & HC
According to my observations, this is the first instant CO contact you. Once we lodge the application and if we did not submit the PC and HC CO will request the same from you.

PC - Police Certificate is an essential document to ensure that you are/ were in good character and you have no criminal records whatsoever. Police reports are required by the adult applicants from all the countries where they have been residing for last 10 years. (not required for short stays that are less than 1 year)
For Sri Lankan PC it takes 14 working days and for UK PC it takes 10 working days plus delivery period.

HC - Health Certificate or Medical Clarence are required for all the migrating and non migrating family members of your family unit.( Applicant/spouse and kids). After the lodgment of your visa application you can request for a e medical referral letter through your immi account or if you apply via an agent he or she will send the same to you (if you have not get the same from your agent, request for it). And you should visit a medical center and proceed all the required test. This takes good 4 -5 hours and the results will be submitted by the particular centre directly to authorities within a week. For Sri Lankans you can call IOM Migration Health Assessment Centre and make an appointment.

CO will inform you if the HC is not in a good condition to proceed or if any of the test are not in satisfactory level where you might have to proceed the same process again.
Also, if you have lived in a foreign country it is a must to get the PC from that particular country as well rather than waiting for CO to remind you the same.

Conclusion - Dont wait for CO to request from you the PC and the HC as you can easily attend to those by your self. With that we can minimize the delays and CO engagements.

In my case I submitted both my UK & Local PC on the time of main application submission and my HC with in month as it was very difficult to take an appointment at the medical centre.

2. Application and Supportive Documents

When we submit the application, there are some essential documents that we have to attach to support our application. So another instant where CO contact you is whenever we missed any of these important documents.
I trust that we all are aware of these documents. However, i will list down some of the instant where some members were contacted by CO for documents. (May be members forget to attached or maybe they waited till co to request them)

1. Form 80 o_O
I was so shocked to see that CO contacted for form 80, as i believe this is an essential doc.
2. Employment Evidence :bookworm:
This is the main reason CO contact you for, hence will discuss this separately.
3. Marriage Certificate
4. Partner Language certificate
5. Child Birth Certificate
6. Functional Certificate - Have no idea about this. @MysticRiver please help on this.

If you have notice any reasons other that above that CO contacted members for, please list down for our own benefit. ;):)

I believe functional certificate means proof of your english level or test.

As for partner language certificate, if we provide an official letter from university stating the official language of instruction, the degree received and the years spent at university as an alternative to english test, please confirm if it is suitable or acceptable by CO.

Thx

Partner English skill test is mandatory, at least in 2018. Else, you can pay $4885 and enrol in English classes, more information available on Dibp website.
I haven't been contacted yet. My 60-days-post-application-lodgement wait will be over in Jan. Waiting "impatiently".😂😂

Just to clarify, partner's functional English proof is mandatory to avoid paying additional $4885, but it (functional English) can be achieved either by sitting on an English Test or providing proof that the partner's education was carried in the English language.

3. Employment Evidence
When we claim for working points we should submit all the possible and available documents to support the claim. If the CO got suspicious or not satisfied with the documents you provided, he will definitely contact for more details.

1.Service /Reference letters with JD (Job Description)
2. Promotion letters
3. Resignation Letters
4. Appraisal Letters
5. Job Contracts or Agreements
6. Salary Slips ( I provided 20 slips for 3 years)
7. Bank statements / Pass Books (Highlight the salaries)
8. Tax Documents
9. EPF documents

Get all 1-5 documents on company letterhead. Ensure WEB sites, FB page, phone numbers and other contact details of the company is up to date and reachable for the CO if he wants to contact the company. Inform your company thoroughly in regard to the process and ask from them to give their support if CO contacted for verification. ( Having a good relationship with the company is very important to get their fullest support)

In my case, I submitted my service letter, promotion letter, 20 salary slips and all my passbooks with salaries highlighted. CO did not contact me at any point. It was a direct grant. :)

Hi @LPP,

Thanks for sharing the information. I have one query regarding PCC and will be grateful if u could answer.

I am currently working outside my home country (Sri Lanka). So when I apply for PCC from Sri Lanka, for what duration should I request it for?

Is it for before leaving Sri Lanka or till present date? Because I will be getting a PCC from Singapore for my stay here.
