Singapore COC/PCC

Hi,

I have a question for those who have obtained Singapore COC/PCC for immigration purposes. I have lodged my application [under 190] and I am now in the process of collecting PCCs from various countries. Singapore is one such country. As a non-citizen of Singapore I am first supposed to appeal.

In the appeal form we need to specify period of stay. Now while I was working in Singapore on Employment Pass I traveled back to my home country -- India as did my wife on a few occasions. She too was on her separate Employment pass.
However for period of stay can we put our initial entry date in Singapore as From Date and date of final departure as To Date ? It seems logical but want to hear experiences of others

Regards.

This is absolutely fine. They have all the records and you need to mention only the first and Last date - not your home visit or other international travel.

Hi @KR79 and others,

I am planning to apply for my 887 visa after a few months. As a requirement, I would need to apply CoC from Singapore (Singapore PCC) as I have lived for exactly 365 days. Appreciate if you could help me with answeres,

1) I have lived and worked for exactly 1 year (Nov-6 2017 to Nov-6 2018 as per employment pass) so should I apply for a PCC ?

2) The sing police website says "You must also be above the age of 16 and have documentary proof which states that a COC is required by the foreign government authority or institution for overseas purposes such as migration, adoption, overseas employment or further education."
What sort of document did you submit for this requirement?
source: https://eservices.police.gov.sg/content/policehubhome/homepage/certificate-of-clearance-hub.html

3) How do you apply once you have left Singapore?

4) Can I re-use any police checks I previously submitted for my 489 visa application?

Cheers - Aakyl

Most probably you can use the same document as you have not lived in Singapore after that. Looks like you already applied for Singapore PCC once - you probably know the process - it’s an easy and straight forward process with 2 phases - Appeal and Application. along with passport and other mandatory documents - you may provide your 489 grant letter with the purpose of 887 in comment column.

Thanks for the reply, sorry if I have confused you by my question. I have lived in multiple countries before I applied for 489. So I have previously obtained PCC from those countries. Those are what I am trying to re-submit if that is possible?

Regarding the Singapore COC - I have not applied that before as I lived in Singapore after I got my 489 visa grant. This is a new one adding to my list for my future 887 application. I will have to apply the Singapore CoC for the first time. Hence, any advice about applying this from outside Singapore, the process and tips would help me.

Cheers - Aakyl

Ok understood- regarding your first question- mostly it is possible to resubmit as long as you haven’t gone back to those places and stayed further and I have seen such cases in this forum.

Singapore PCC - is 2 phase process - you have to make an appeal to authorities by providing the mandatory documents mentioned in their website - here you may provide the reason for applying along with some documentation- eg: your 489 grant or any other correspondence. Once appeal is accepted- they will inform you to apply for the PCC application- this stage you may need to send your fingerprints to Singapore authorities. I understand Australian police can help you to do this. Once approved you will receive your PCC on post to your Australian address. It may look like a hectic process but all of these happens quickly and swiftly like any other thing in Singapore. Good luck

Thanks for your detailed answer and that sounds satisfying. I too had the feeling that the process should happen swiftly like any other thing in Singapore and your words give me more hope. Thank you very much @AaRen2019.

Hi Aakyl, I just post my fingerprint to Singapore Police Force today. Did you get a softcopy COC online during the time you applied? Because I'm concerned about the mail delays due to COVID-19 that will impact on my visa lodge.

Consider before posting:
  • Do not post the same thing in multiple places.
  • No personal contact and/or non-English phrase is allowed.
  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
