Hi, so I have created a login in skillselect and am lodging my 1st EOI. I have 80pts with spouse's superior English and further 5pts possibly will be added once her EA skill assessment is done.

Since the 189 visa allows location flexibility, that is our 1st focus. Should we limit our 1st EOI only to the 189?

The forum has many threads and posts about applicants opening multiple login IDs to lodge seperate EOIs for 189 and state sponsored 190. Is it better to launch multiple parallel EOIs or do it in a staggered way? What works best? For my CV and profile the states offering job vacancies are mainly VIC and NSW. SA and Qsld come in next.

Further how much time does it take on avg for DIBP to process the 189 EOI and return with a +ve invitation pls?

Tks a lot for your help

Rgds

OK. Update. Loaded the 189 EOI with 80pts for Electrical Engineer. Wife's skill assessment submitted for fast track review. Fingers x. Ed.

I was told by some seniors who immigrated 3yrs ago, that they had only applied initially for the 189 in the 1st EOI. They rcvd advice from Aus Immigration to thereon apply under NSW state 190, based on the 189 EOI. Is this really what happens?

If so, is there a need at all to lodge seperate state nomination 190 EOIs?

Usually, states prefer to have a single EOI with only one state name in it. So if you are applying in multiple states, you should go with separate EOIs for each state and one for 189 too. This will help you administratively also

Tks for the Reply. I have already lodged a 2nd 190 EOI 2hrs prior to reading this. Since skill select mentions that other states will be able to see our choices, I selected states as Any, just to keep them guessing. Hoping this strategy helps generate some leads.

Any can also have some issue specially states like NSW. I would suggest you to create separate for each eligible state and if invited, then you can delete all other
