As you are an Architect, shouldn't you assess from AACA or VETASSESS? First check which skill occupation you fit, then choose the corresponding assessment authority.

http://www.migrationdesk.com/threads/skilled-occupations-list-sol.41432/

Regarding ACS assessment, it costs AUS $500 and official timeline is 12 weeks, though many reported the assessment took less than that.

Most people I know, they all have done themselves without any hassle. The process is online, clear and very well documented. So I don't see a reason why you can't do it.

For details, start with the link below:

Is there any difference between ACS & ECA.Since I have done ECA which was for Canada
You are comparing Apple with an Apple tree. ECA means Educational Credential Assessment, which can be done by any designated organization (e.g. CES, ICASC, WES etc.).

Similarly for Australia, you have to do "migration skill assessment" (which is comparable term of ECA) by any designated organization such as ACS, AACA, VETASSESS, EA etc (counterpart of CES, ICASC, WES of Canada immigration system).

However there is a major difference. In Canada immigration, all the designated organizations assess your education irrespective of your field.

But in Australia, each designated organization are specifically fixed for certain occupations. For example ACS (means Australian Computer Society) is not going to assess degrees in medical or architecture whereas AACA (Architects Accreditation Council Of Australia) is not going to assess for computer science related fields.

So, first from below link, check which occupation skill matches your job description most. Then check what is the corresponding assessing body (last column of the table).

Thank you so much
Going through it, it has divided in two steps ie Provisional Assessment and then to Final Assessment.Bit confused as it has said to be as resistered Architect in Australia. So do we have to go through only Provisional one for migration purpose or both ?

Thanks in Advance

Yes. As they clearly put in the table in this link,

Stage 2 is for Australian Residents only. For overseas applicants, only Stage 1 is required (as you can see they wrote Migration Skill Assessment below stage 1).

No one can guarantee any timeline for getting sponsorship.

You need to apply for sponsorship first, the submit EOI mentioning the reference number of sponsorship application. So you can submit both at the same time.

The new occupation ceilings will be in action from July 1 each year. At that time all ceilings get reset. If you don't get an invitation by June 30, your EOI will be automatically judged with new ceiling.

To claim points for partner's skill, you have to assess yourself as well. Below are the requirements

Dear Sir,

My husband has done Bachelors in engineering (electronics & Instrumentation).
He is working in the same field from last 10 years & job responsibilities are maintaining automation of process industry.
Now my query is in which SOL he needs to submit CDR (Electronics engineer or Plant engineer)

SOL should match occupation, ideally.
