Hi Charlie,

I submitted my skills assessment (ICT BA, RPL route) on 18 March.

At point of submission, it stated a 6-8 week turnaround, which would give an end April/mid May expected result.
Unfortunately the timelines now appear to have extended, showing 10-12 weeks whih would be end May....feels like a long time away!

Hi,

I have submitted my skills assessment to ACS on 19th March.
What would be the approximate date on which i can receive the result from them?

Thanks,
Charlie

They say 60 working days, but it came back in 18 working days for me twice.

Hi - I submitted my RPL on 23rd Jan and it is yet to be assessed. I am running on week 10 :-(. Is this delay typical for an ACS assessment via RPL route?.

Not really, but as they say No news is good news, so do not be worried.

Hi All,

I applied for ACS Skills assessment (ICT BA) through RPL method by myself and took no help from consultant hence developed RPL of 17,000 words based on my understanding and content requirements defined in RPL 2017 version template. I am a Bachelors of Commerce (Honours) from Magadh University Bodh Gaya, India with First Class and Transcript conversion done from US based institution.

Applied RPL to ACS on 5th April 2018,moved from Case officer to Assessor on 16th April 2018 and waiting for results.

I have 14 years of experience in Banking Sector with 8 employers. Started working since April 2004.

Employer 1 - Roles and responsibilities letter on company letterhead issued by HR (April 2004- July 2005). Attached R&R letter + Relieving letter as notarized.

Employer 2 - Roles and responsibilities letter on company letterhead issued by HR (July 2005- September 2006). Attached R&R letter + Relieving letter as notarized.

Employer 3- Roles and responsibilities letter on company letterhead issued by HR (September 2006 - August 2008). Attached R&R letter + Relieving letter as notarized.

Employer 4 - (September 2008 - January 2011). Notarized Affidavit Statutory Declaration from Senior Colleague not Manager + Employer Release Letter + Employer letter on letterhead addressed to ACS verify my date of joining, exit and title only, stating no policy for issuing such letters.

Attached SD, relieving / release letter,. Senior colleague release letter, senior colleague left job and was not in current employment while signing SD and mentioned that he was senior colleague in Company X and moved to Company Y, but didn't mention that currently he is not working as he took break. No mandatory guidelines of ACS that Senior colleague signing SD should be currently employed. No salary slips attached by me as ACS mentioned that either of 3 documents can be attached and relieving letter was one of them. Signed and Sworn before me format was used on E-Stamp of value INR 20, India Non Judicial, Government of Karnataka (India). All supporting documents and SD was attested with Notary seal as well.

Employer 5 - (January 2011 - July 2014). Notarized Affidavit Statutory Declaration from Senior Colleague not Manager + Employer Release or Relieving Letter.

Attached SD, relieving / release letter, senior colleague release letter, senior colleague current company experience letter and photo ID card copy.

Employer 6- Roles and responsibilities letter on company letterhead issued by HR (July 2014 - June 2016). Attached R&R letter + Relieving letter as notarized.

Employer 7 - (June 2016 - July 2016). Notarized Affidavit Statutory Declaration from Junior Colleague not Manager + Employer Release or Relieving Letter.

Attached SD, relieving / release letter. Junior colleague release letter, junior colleague same company experience letter and photo ID card copy. Junior colleague left the firm and not currently employed while signing SD hence in SD mentioned that he worked with applicant in company X.

Experience GAP of two months as took break in job during mid July 2016 - August 2016 and in September 2016 joined the 8th Firm.

Employer 8- Roles and responsibilities letter on company letterhead issued by HR (September 2016- Till Date). Attached R&R letter + Relieving letter as notarized.

With all research and learning + guidance from colleague who got PR helped me on document SD format or R&R format, I have applied.

I referred the ACS guidance document on RPL and developed RPL of 17000 plus documents with no plagiarism but real time real content and submitted to ACS.

Age 39 years, 4 months (25 Points)

Qualification - Bachelors of Commerce_ Honours (3 years degree) - 15 Points

Experience - Assumption, 6 years will be subtracted from 14 years experience (April 2004 - Till Date May 2018 minus two months of Break). 1st June 2018, I will get 15 points.

PTE A- Current score is 10 but will get 20.

So total score comes 75 for 189 and 80 for 190.

What are the chances of getting PR invite before 30 December 2018 (will become 40 years on 30 the December 2018) if I get:

ACS evaluation by 5 June 2018 and EOI filed with 75 and 80.
EOI is filed in June 2018 with 75 points and 80 points (six months left before 40)

ACS application date was 5th April 2018 so expecting positive results by 5th June 2018.

What options are there post 40 years to regain 10 points by Australian experience and Masters degree plus what is regional studies, one year of professional program.

Can you please guide me based on scenario one - my application and chances of PR

Scenario two - post 40 years.

Can someone please guide me if my application to ACS for skills assessment through RPL method for my Bachelors degree of Commerce (Honours - 3 years) is correct as job code is ICT BA.

I think it depends on job code where VETASSES assesses the degree because in case of ICT BA it should be ACS who will assess the RPL, experience, SD, roles and responsibilities letter from employers.

Please guide me urgently so that I can check with ACS as Case officer didn't raise concern and moved to assessment officer and it is almost FOUR weeks now since I submitted my application to ACS.

Also please advise, if I log EOI with 75 by when shall I get PR invite as further it takes 5-6 months in Medical report, PCC to issue PR letter.

Thanks and Regards
Alok Kumar

Should I wait for ACS to come back and recommend to get my degree evaluated from VETASSES or I should contact VETASSES directly and asking them if they will evaluate degree. I already have a Bachelors degree three years full-time from India with first class and transcript done by US agency.

When I contacted consultants in India they told me that ACS will evaluate all Bachelors degree for ICT BA so not required to check with VETASSES

Please, can someone who knows or dealt with Bachelors of Commerce Honours degree from India who has got evaluation write their viewpoints.

Thanks and Regards
Alok Kumar

As you have already submitted your application, there is no reason for speculating, just wait for the result.

I submitted my skills assessment (ICT BA, RPL route) on 18 March.

S

Got my positive assessment today. 😁

6 years experience taken off to account for a non ICT degree (BEng Hons Aerospace Engineering and MBA).
No mention of degree in letter from ACS however as they've subtracted 6 years I assume it's comparable to Australian standards so I can claim 15 education points.
Just over 8 years skilled experience so max points there 😀

Thanks for the link @MysticRiver . This is a bit of a grey area it seems.

I contacted ACS to query this and got the following response (obviously specific to my case):
"The ACS can only report on recognised, tertiary ICT qualifications.
Your qualifications have been assessed as having insufficient ICT and therefore cannot be reported on your skill assessment result letter.
As you have been assessed under RPL, your suitable outcome was based on your ACS Project Report form and your experience.
If you would like your qualification recognised for points purposes you will need to contact the relevant assessing authority."

So even though only 6 years of my experience were deducted, implying the BEng and MBA degrees were suitable, it is not confirmed.
Looks like my next step is VETASSESS for a Qualifications only Points Advice test

@SJR did you contact VETASSESS for your qualification assessment. I am also facing the same issue. I've completed my B. COM from Delhi University and then started working as System Administrator. I've around 17 years of total IT experience.

ACS deducted around 7 years of my experience but in the result, they didn't mention anything related to the B. Com degree. Even I sent an email to ACS and they mentioned that my degree doesn't have sufficient ICT content, therefore, they didn't mention it on the ACS.

Please confirm, what's the next step. Shall I get my B. Com degree assessed from VETASSESS or will get Graduation points automatically?
