Invitation statistics for high demand occupations

Due to large numbers of EOIs being received for the below occupations, DIBP decided to invite on a pro rata basis for these occupations over the 2015-16 programme year. However, this process can be changed if situation demands. SkillSelect first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) visas and then remaining to Skilled – Regional (subclass 489) (Provisional – Family Sponsored) visas. If all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas then there will be no invitations issued for subclass 489 visas in these occupations.

Timeline missing
When I received my 190 invite, I decided to do not follow these dates (for pro-rata occupations) anymore. But now, I was just surprised to see how the queue has been moving so fast for 2613 !!! From June to November in a couple months!

If I had waited- probably I would be receiving an invite for 189 soon (my EOI date was of Dec, 18th). Well, I had no crystal ball to undergo this move so I think I did the right move applying for 190 visa, especially I had the issue with age factor by the middle of year. ;)

Thanks Mystic for the updates.

You surely did the right thing. And if you ask me, I have several friends in Aus, some are in 189, some 190. And honestly, I have not seen any kind of distinction among them in terms of job opportunities, or any other services.
