Invitation statistics for high demand occupations

Due to large numbers of EOIs being received for the below occupations, DIBP decided to invite on a pro rata basis for these occupations over the 2015-16 programme year. However, this process can be changed if situation demands. SkillSelect first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) visas and then remaining to Skilled – Regional (subclass 489) (Provisional – Family Sponsored) visas. If all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas then there will be no invitations issued for subclass 489 visas in these occupations.

Yup .. Visa date of effect is the date of EOI submission of the last person that got invitation in this round (in that skill). When they rank, they first prioritize based on point. Then when multiple people have same points, they rank them by Visa date of effect, e.g. EOI submission date.

Hello,

In the previous report (23 October) there was limit in 65 points and 22 October 2015 12.02 am visa date of effect for Software and Applications Programmers. In current, the point limit is the same 65 but visa date of effect was moved on about 5 months back till 19 May 2015 11.39 pm. How it is possible?

Good point Khrystyna ... the only explanation I can think of is DIBP made some mistakes while posting the result. Either the visa effect date was printed incorrect, or (I am more leaned towards) the minimum point was actually 60 in last round.
