@MysticRiver, is there anyway we can check cut-off points and visa date for state nominations for individual occupations?.

I've lodged my EOI on 1st week of September for both NSW & VIC with 65+5(SS) but haven't heard anything so far. Any wild guess you can make on my invite?

Thank you @Rakshanda, are you sure on this?

I'm just wondering how we(aspirants) hope for an invite if they don't publish anything?

Any specific factors do they consider when inviting someone?

I thought 190 would be easy as I have total 70 points for that category, but as you've mentioned no can predict it. I don't know if I get an invite or not in 1 or 2 months. I checked in immitracker but it doesn't show anything either.

By the way, while submitting EOI if an applicant selects both 189 & 190 , in case we get invited from state sponsorship(i.e. 190). Does the application status changes to "invited" or "submitted" in Skillselect portal or only rely on the invite email?

Also, if we accept 190 invite, will they consider the same EOI for 189 as well?

Yes

Demand plus higher IELTS scores.

The status changed to Invited and you get an email too. But do not rely on Email. Since it could go to spam. Check your skill select account always.

Also, if we accept 190 invite, will they consider the same EOI for 189 as well?
You can not apply for two visa's simultaneously.

Thanks a lot @Rakshanda. Just to clarify further

Demand plus higher IELTS scores.

how do we find out the demand trend for particular state?

My score is L7.5, R-9, W-7.5, S-7, is it a good score to get invited?

You can not apply for two visa's simultaneously.

That means if we ticked both 189 & 190 in the same EOI. In case we get a state sponsorship invite, then my 189 status will get automatically cancelled?

That's the problem, you can not.

Only once you "apply". Not once you get invited.

Hi @Rakshanda Would it make sense then to submit two different EOIs (one for 189 and one for 190) instead of a single EOI with both visa tickboxes selected or that would make no difference?

Just wondering whether that way we could get invited to 190 and then to 189 rather than missing the opportunity to get 189 if the 190 invite is received sooner.

Why would you want to duplicate it?

Just wondering whether that way we could get invited to 190 and then to 189 rather than missing the opportunity to get 189 if the 190 invite is received sooner.
Nop, it doesnt happens like this, 189 invites are automated and 190 invites are manual.

Such a clear answer! Thank you, I did not know 190 invites were manual.

I submitted my applicaiton for VIC state nomincation. I have an EOI score of 60 (65 with state nomination), I applied in ICT Busienss Analyst, 7 years experience with 7's in IELTS and a job offer. This allowed me to directly apply on the VIC website and didn't have to wait for an Invite. Some say that with the job offer I should get feedback very fast and it should be approved if its all valid (it is.) Can someone confirm this? Or will I still wait around 12 weeks for feedback?

Hi @Rakshanda @RenVilo Is it possible to apply to 190 directly on the VIC or NSW website if an employer within that state is willing to hire me? In that case, would I still apply via Skillselect or would the employer have to apply on my behalf? Based on the message above it sounds like it is faster than applying on skillselect and waiting for an invite. If you could let me know whether this is right or where to find more information about this would be much appreciated.

No. When an employer is hiring you, its 457 not 190.

In that case, would I still apply via Skillselect or would the employer have to apply on my behalf?
It will not be a 190, it will be a 457 than.

Usually when you apply for state nomination you have to wait for an "pre-invite" and then only you can apply for state nomination. Once this is approved you can apply for the Visa 190. Or at least, this is how I understand it.

In my case, I do have an offer letter from a company in VIC (Melbourne) and this allows me to skip the "pre-invite" section. So, with my score of 60 + 5 I might have been waiting a bit for the pre-invite. But thankfully I skipped it and I could apply directly on the LiveInVictoria website. From here, I'm still in the dark hoping to get quick feedback but several people has said it will still be a 12 week waiting period.

@Rakshanda - In this 12 week period, do they only validate the documents? If everything checks out fine, what is the changes of them denying an invite to apply for a Visa 190?

They never deny a visa without letting the applicant know I believe. They always give a chance to the applicant to prove/provide evidence if anything goes wrong.

Many thanks for your reply @RenVilo ! I just saw your post and had no idea that was possible. Do you know what information the offer of employment letter should contain? Do I just need a letter from a company stating that they will hire me as soon as I obtain the visa? Thanks again!
