Dear friends,

I have a few doubts regarding submission of a Statutory declaration to ACS for Skills Assessment.

I went through the ACS guidelines pdf (https://www.acs.org.au/content/dam/acs/acs-skills/Skills Assessment Guidelines for Applicants V5-6 Aug 2018.pdf) and understood that if one cannot obtain an employment reference, he/she has to submit a SD to ACS. The document states that the SD or affidavit has to be written by a work colleague and the work colleague at a supervisory level is preferred.

My doubts:
1. Is there any alternative for this approach? What if I cannot get either Employment reference or SD by a work colleague?
2. Can the work colleague at supervisory level be a Team Leader? Or should he/she be at a Manager level?
3. How many SDs do I need to submit? I have worked in multiple projects(3), all of which are under the same 'Manager'. Can I just have a SD by a work colleague(Team Lead) of the 3rd project?
4. Do I need a SD from a previous company also if any?

My details:
1. Nationality: Indian
2. Currently working: MNC

Hoping to get a reply soon.

Thank you.

You need to get one SD for each of your employment period. So if for all the three projects you have worked for comes under same employer then only one is enough. It should cover complete employment period and can be obtained by manager, team lead or even colleague with same level provide all of them knows about your job duties as well as they should have completed >= the period ad of yours in same organization

How would ACS assess the relevancy of your experience if you don't have any document showing your job responsibilities?

Dear Expert ,

I have one quick question on SD, I am able to get SD from my senior colleagues , though he joined company 1.5 years after me, I don't have anyone who can provide me to cover first 1.5 years of my employment.

will acs assess at-least my claimed duration on SD? or my entire employment will go as non suitable?

my other supporting documents do have joining dates and pay slips are also inline

I believe ACS can accept but that can cause trouble later as CO might object that how can your colleague declare something when he was bot available for the entire duration. Better avoid taking SD from him and check for alternate options

1. In my case, there are 3 Team Leads, one each for each project. Can my Team Lead of the current project(just 5 months old) write about me for the previous 2 projects as well about which she does not have any idea?
2. Also, do the documents Employment reference letters and SDs needed to be attested? Can you give me some reference link which can describe about the flow of acquiring an Employment Reference letter and SD and submitting it to ACS, the entire step-by-step flow?

As I am not getting proper source (or a bit unclear about the available source) I am asking you these kind of questions. Please don't mind. :)

Don't mind but won't my Appointment letter (Offer letter) and Pay slips be sufficient to say that my employment is genuine?
Offer letter is not acceptable by ACS.

If she doesnt have any idea about your previous project, how would she claim and declare something? CO might object on the credibility.

Rest you can check ACS guidelines here https://www.acs.org.au/content/dam/...t Guidelines for Applicants V5-6 Aug 2018.pdf for detailed step-by-step procedure

Offer letter is not acceptable by ACS.
Also, offer letters don't usually have the details of your job responsibilities. Also, many a time, the job performed in practice doesn't match the initial plan.

does the work colleague HAVE to be at a supervisory level?

What I you was the colleague manager? (I worked with them on a daily basis for years).

My main issue is that I am still employed by the company to date and I don't want to let any of the bigger managers know that i am applying for an EOI incase it doesn't happen. I can ask a colleague but I really don't want to tell the bigger bosses (just yet).

I had given ACS SD from a colleague at the same level . It worked for me . But my agent tells me that in such a case it’s also better to provide the experience letter of the person giving the SD showing or mentioning the period of work in the same company . I have provided the same. Providing it from a manager or supervisor is always safer as the CO might assess it differently from the ACS person and sometimes even insist on it

You can contact some same level colleague too, but not junior
