For me, get 10 point in PTE or IELTS is almost impossible because I didn´t get 6.0 or 50 yet.
First, let me correct you, you'll need IETLS 7 or PTE 65 in each section to claim 10 points.

You at least have to score IELTS 6 or PTE 50 in each section to apply for immigration (though you won't get any extra point). So, this is the minimum criteria you need to achieve. Check the links below.

http://www.migrationdesk.com/threads/point-system-for-australia-immigration.24/
http://www.migrationdesk.com/thread...tency-level-for-australian-immigration.41408/

I would like to know how is my real chance to be invited with this 489 VISA with just 60 points being Agricultural Consultant.
Unfortunately, DIBP does not release much information about state sponsorship, so it is impossible to comment on real chance. But if you have already sent your documents to VETASSESS, there is no point of "not applying". Just take your chance. But again, you have to score minimum points first in your IETLS/PTE.

Mystic River,

Thanks for explanation, I took the PTE Academic and got 41;50;44;50 .
So, I´m really near to get the minimum 50 in all bands, but I know that get 65 is far away yet. The IELTS I think is more difficult than PTE.

I´m afraid that get 50 points to immigration + get 10 points for State Sponsorship and choose some region that don´t thave work for my profission.
Must I work for 12 months in my job in full time during the first 2 years to apply for Permanent Visa?? Need I work as an Agricultural Consultant or in whatever job
I want?

Thank you !

.

With state sponsored 489 visa, you need to live and work in regional areas of your sponsoring state. If you don't have any job, doesn't matter. It just requires you that you don't take job outside the designated areas - either do job inside those areas, or don't.

Ofcourse, after 2 years, you can apply for PR.

hello, I am currently studying in melbourne for bachelor degree, I was invited to apply for this visa by my brother is the sponsor lives in perth, now I am filling up the 1221 what should I answer in question 34, should I check both have applied for migration visa and are a student? In Question 36, Do you intend to do a course of study in Australia? No or Yes, I am in Melbourne currently enrolled here with my current student visa, but I my sponsor is in perth, I am confuse.

I believe you have to check migration visa only, because each Form 80 and Form 1221 are linked with a certain visa type. So, when you submit Form 1221 with your 489 visa application, the question should meant for your 489 visa.

489 family sponsored visa does not require you to stay in your sponsor's state, rather you need to live in any designated area in Australia. So, I don't see any issue here.

thank you Mystic river, so I can tick yes? and specified my university in melbourne?

Why would you do that?
My wife want in perth but I want in victoria... can i claim points for qualification in my visa application but i never included in eoi? This qualification is the the qualification I send in assessing authority but i put this in to non aqf category in eoi, now I plan to put i under other qualificatio or award recognized by assessing authority

Whatever you put in Q12 should just be based on possibility, you are not bound to live there. So, it doesn't matter where you actually live later.

What do you mean by claim point in "visa application"? You cannot claim any point in "visa application", the idea of point comes to play only in the EOI. Once you have your invitation, your point has nothing to do for future processing. All you need is to prove the point claims you made in your EOI.

In visa application, you need to provide all the information, irrespective of whether you mentioned that or claimed point in your EOI. But the idea of point has no existence in the post-invitation reality.

Hey MysticRiver,

Hope you are well.

Firstly, thank you so much for all your posts in this thread, they are extremely informative and valuable.

I have one question in regards to the 489. I'm a sponsor wanting to sponsor both my younger brother and my first cousin. I have done a fair bit of looking into this, however haven't been able to confirm if there is a limit on number of primary applicants I can sponsor and any time factors.

Could you please advise if you know anything about this?

Thanks mate, appreciate it.

In my knowledge, there is no limit on how many eligible family members you can sponsor.

Hello @MysticRiver . My future plan is to sponsor my sister and brother in law.

-My sister who has 60 points, lodged EOI and has positive skill asssestment,

-My brother in law has no 60 pts, no EOI lodged and no skill assestment.

Both are students, they are not married acc to papers. But as per the discussion on this thread, I came to know that I am eligible to sponsor them, if sister put my brother in law in her application? They will get married in papers, if condition requires so.. Do you see any difficulties in apply for 489FS?

Additionally, if I hold 190VISA, after how many months will get to sponsor them?

You can sponsor them anytime as long as you live in a designated area. However, getting an invitation is highly competitive and the difficulty level varies with skill.

Thanks for replying @MysticRiver . My sister skill is Accountant and my brother in law skill is Internal Auditor. They might have to wait long for invitation even if I sponsored them.

@mystic, pls I would appreciate if you can verify if right or wrong this message a dear friend sent to me as regards 489. I would appreciate it sir. Thank you Regarding the discussions the other day, if you could move out of the state. The truth is you can. But only few states give you a release letter for that. Unlike what was discussed Tasmania does give a release letter BUT you need to prove them the reason for leaving. A good case would be you genuinely lived for about 6 months tried your very best, did a bit of volunteering, still couldn't meet the 35+hours per week requirement to sustain your family. They will give the release letter.
Another case could be you got a proper offer letter or letter of employment from a different REGIONAL AREA, then you could request and gain the release letter.
In both these cases you should show them the number of job applications and genuine efforts you have put up to settle and find work in the state.
Regarding 887, IF YOU GET RELEASE LETTER then there would be no issue to get the PR approved.

If you get approval from the state, you definitely won't have any issue during 887. Any approved exemption is always a perfectly acceptable thing.
