Hi Everyone!

I was doing some research about whether to wait until get the 189 visa or jump into a 190 Victoria visa.
But it says that I will have to live and work in "regional victoria" Outside the "Metropolitan Melbourne".
Can you please help me to understand what is regional victoria and does anyone know the post codes where you ara allowed to live and work for this visa?
Is it possible that I might get post codes from another state?

Thanks for your help!
Best regards,
German

Why not apply in both. However, you should think of improving your point score.

I think you are talking about 489SS, not 190. The obligation for 190 is to live anywhere in VIC for 2 years, NOT restricted to the regional area

You, and any nominated dependants, must live in Victoria for the first two years of your visa. This two year period begins when you enter Australia permanently on the Skilled Nominated (190) visa, or if you are already onshore, when the visa is granted by DIBP.

You, and any sponsored dependants, must live and work in regional Victoria whilst you are living in Australia under this visa.

Here are the postcodes for all the regional areas in Australia. Again, this is applicable ONLY for 489SS, NOT for 190.

Hi MysticRiver,
Thanks for your answer!

What is your suggestion regarding EOI.
Should I add the Visa 190 to the EOI that I have already submited for 189? Or should I create a new EOI only for Victoria 190?

I am not finding it easy to increase my points. For that I can only take an 8 on the ielts and I was really hard for me to get a 7 in each band...
Next year my poins will drop 5 point for age but they will increase in 5 by work experience, so my score will remain the same. My partner has it very difficult to validate her degree because she has a medical degree super hard to asses and she does not meet the 2 year work experience after graduation that are required.

Thanks for your clarification and help.
Best regards,
German

Another question MysticRiver,
In the LiveInVictoria Web it says:

How to apply
Apply first to the Victorian Government for visa nomination.
If this is approved you then apply to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection for this visa.

How do I apply first here? does it means I have to apply somewhere else before lodgin an EOI for vctoria State?
In order to do that, do I need to have NOW the prof of 35k money? and the cronological CV and stuff?

I havent found this information on the forum, maybe i did not look hard enough, I apologizes in advance for that.

Thanks and regards,
German

I always advise to create separate EOI, though it is not mandatory all the time.

This is for non-ICT occupation. For ICT skills (like yours), an EOI is enough

Hi, @MysticRiver ,

Victoria's eligibility requirements mention the following about Offer of Employment:
Offer of employment
You will be required to provide a current job offer in your nominated occupation to support your visa nomination application if:

As I am outside of Australia, I would assume that I do not need a valid job offer to be considered for SS (Visa 190), am I right?

Thanks

It sounds like that though it's a bit strange that inter-state applicants need an employment offer but the off-shores don't.

Consider before posting:
  • Do not post the same thing in multiple places.
  • No personal contact and/or non-English phrase is allowed.
  • Always post in a relevant thread or open a new one.
  • Better to use the reactions in a post to congratulate/thank.
