Hi,

I am onshore now and I have submitted my EOI for visa 190, my current visa ends mid march next year so if i was given an invitation to apply i can have a bridging visa. My question is, can i travel outside Australia and come back before it starts ?

Until your current visa expires, you are free to do everything your current visa allows you. There will be no change of your status due to PR application (until your current visa expires).

I am from Melbourne on "Bridging Visa A" leading to protection visa. I have submitted EOI and expecting invitation 190 within 2 months.

When I have to travel overseas during submitting 190 application or during the visa grant process time?

Please elaborate my case and also advise me the complete process. In your opinion, what should be points for chef invitation for 190,189 and 489.

regards,
Peter

BVA doesn't allow you to travel overseas. If you only have BVA right now, you need to apply for BVC showing the appropriate cause for overseas travel.

No, you BV will come into effect ONLY after your current visa expires

In effect
You can hold a bridging visa while you have a substantive visa. While you are holding a substantive visa you must comply with the conditions of that visa.

A bridging visa comes 'in to effect' when:
  • your current substantive visa expires

If your substantive visa is still valid
You can hold a substantive visa and a BVB at the same time. If you still hold a substantive visa that lets you leave Australia and return, but you think it might expire before you re-enter Australia, you might still choose to apply for a BVB and wait until it is granted before you travel.
As long as you return to Australia within the BVB travel period, you can stay in Australia on the BVB while you wait for our decision on your visa application.
